Captured moments I’ll treasure forever. 🤍

A month before we left the Philippines, Ian and I made it a point to spend time with the people who mattered most to us. We shared the same circle of friends from high school, but over the years, I was also blessed with friendships from different chapters of my life. College friends, former colleagues who became family, and my amazing VA friends.

Every weekend was filled with coffee dates, lunches, dinners, and heartfelt goodbyes. It was exhausting at times, but in the best possible way.

Every time I came home after seeing them, my heart felt so full. Yet quietly, at the back of my mind, I kept praying. I thanked God for surrounding me with such incredible people, while wondering if I would ever find friendships like these again in a new country.

It was only then that I realized that moving to another country doesn’t just mean leaving a place behind. It also means leaving a part of myself with the people I love. There was a sadness in knowing how much I would miss them, not just their presence, but also who I am when I’m with them. The version of me that laughs a little louder, feels completely understood, and never has to explain herself.

The truth is, my friends are a huge part of who I am today. They have been there through my happiest moments and my hardest seasons. They’ve celebrated my wins, carried me through struggles, and helped shape the person I’ve become. In so many ways, they are an extension of my life story.

And for that, I will always be grateful.

To the friends near and far, to those who continue to cheer me on from a distance, check in on me, and always have my back, thank you. You may not realize it, but you carry a piece of home with you wherever you are. 🤍

The day we left the Philippines.

I had been preparing for this day for almost two months before we finally received the good news.

After eight years with the same company in the Philippines, my husband was given an opportunity to continue his career with them in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It was a big step for our family, and one that would change our lives in ways we couldn’t fully imagine.

To be honest, I never thought I would one day live in another country. Leaving home was emotional. It was exciting, scary, unfamiliar, and filled with so many mixed emotions all at once.

As we entered our 30s, we found ourselves starting a brand-new chapter—one that would take us far from everything we had known and into a life full of new experiences.

Looking back, I’m grateful for the weeks we spent with the people who matter most to us before we left. Not because we were saying goodbye forever, but because we were filling our hearts with memories to carry with us on this journey.

And as our plane took off that day, so did a new adventure for our little family. ❤️
