On 5th of January 2024, Maersk announced that it would *pause* all vessels bound for the Red Sea / Guld of Aden in light of the recent incident involving Maersk Hangzhou and ongoing development in the area.

➖As a result, the personal effect shipments are directly impacted as Hapag-Lloyd remains the only competitor of Maersk for the route UAE - Romania and, as such, the route is now deviated via Cape Town (South Africa) and the prices have significantly increased, 230% of the *raw-price* from the vessels to which other costs (as packing, internal transfer, container loading and lashing, export and import formalities etc…) are added.

➕ Today, the 17th of Jan 2024, Maersk and Hapag Lloyd announced to enter into an operational cooperation as of February 2024
