Starting August 1, 2026, your arrival in Egypt is getting a major upgrade!
Eligible travelers landing at Cairo International Airport will now be able to generate a digital visa on arrival QR code. Just scan it straight from your phone or present a printed copy at immigration, and you are good to go!
Here is what you need to know about this new pilot program:
Timing is Everything: Your QR code is strictly valid for 48 hours from the moment it’s generated. Do not create it too early, or it might expire before you land!
Eligibility: This is only available to nationalities that are already eligible for Egypt’s standard visa on arrival.
Old School? No Problem: Traditional paper visa stickers will still be available during the pilot phase.
This update is all about making your entry into Egypt faster and more convenient.
