🕊️ A SAD LOSS IN THE MOUNTAINS OF BADAKHSHAN
It is with deep sorrow that we learned of the tragic passing of an Australian tourist who lost his life while visiting the beautiful Wakhan Corridor of Badakhshan, Afghanistan.
He had travelled to this remote and magnificent part of Afghanistan as part of a group exploring the Wakhan and Pamir regions. According to reports, the incident occurred while the group was hiking in the Chaparan Valley.
At this difficult moment, the people of Afghanistan extend their deepest condolences to his family, friends, loved ones, and to the people of Australia.
Afghanistan has welcomed visitors from around the world for generations, and we are deeply saddened whenever a guest loses his life while visiting our country.
May his family find strength and comfort during this painful time. May his memory be remembered with dignity and respect.
