Lilium armenum (commonly known as the Armenian Lily or Շուշան հայկական in Armenian) is a rare, perennial bulbous plant belonging to the true lily genus (Lilium). It is celebrated for its striking bright yellow color and delicate fragrance.
In Armenia, it wild-grows in damp, high-altitude meadows and rural mountainous regions including Lori, Shirak, Kotayk, and near Lake Sevan.
Lilium armenum is officially listed in the Red Book of Armenia as a rare and endangered species.

✨Magics of Armenia 🇦🇲
Every stone-cross is a unique work of art. What kind of creativity and imagination the Armenians had in order not to repeat the design and the intricate patterns of those exquisite medieval gems.
Noratus is the world’s largest forest of the Armenian stone-crosses or khachkars (after the destruction of Julfa cemetery by the Azeries).
With over 800 stunning masterpiece, none of those stone-crosses is alike, just like snowflakes. The site is an excellent museum under open sky where one can see the evolution of “khachkar” art in Armenia as you walk the site and see 9-10th century khachkars, a bit further away one can see the masterpiece of 12-13th century “lace” or “embroidery” type khachkars as well as 16-17th century masterpiece by Master Kiram with names of those to who they were carved for. But the most mesmerizing part here is the energy, the happy and the positive energy as the gravestones here tell us about the love of the deceased ones (they call themselves sleeping ones) for wine, food, music, beautiful clothes… simply about their habit to celebrate life. Some gravestones also depict the occupation, status, hobbies and even the cause of death of those buried here.
