Exceptional Marriott Resorts With Authentic Island Experiences

My clients just returned from an epic trip to Iguazú Falls—on BOTH the Argentine and Brazilian sides—and seeing their photos had me thinking about my own time there last year. 🇦🇷🇧🇷🇵🇾

Iguazú is spectacular. It can also be a little more complicated to plan than a map makes it look.

This is the Three Borders region, where Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay meet. Attractions can look incredibly close to one another while actually being in different countries. There are border crossings to consider, different transportation logistics, and even two international airports serving the Iguazú area—one in Argentina and one in Brazil—with different flight options and connections to the rest of South America.

And if you’re going all that way, I highly recommend experiencing both sides of Iguazú Falls. They aren’t redundant experiences. The Argentine side gets you incredibly close to the falls through an extensive network of trails and viewpoints, while the Brazilian side gives you those magnificent panoramic views that really show you the scale of Iguazú.

This photo was taken at Marco das Três Fronteiras on the Brazilian side, where the Paraná and Iguazú rivers meet and Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay come together. Standing there really puts the geography of this fascinating part of South America into perspective.

It’s also a great example of why itinerary planning is about much more than choosing hotels and attractions. The order you visit places, which airport you use, how you cross borders, and how your flights connect can make a big difference in how smoothly the trip works.

Christmas Day in Buenos Aires looked a little different from Christmas at home: palm trees, short sleeves, and a family walk through Plaza de Mayo. ☀️

At one end of the square stands Casa Rosada, Argentina’s unmistakable pink government house. In the plaza is the Pirámide de Mayo, a monument dating back to 1811. There’s so much history in one place, but I also loved the simple experience of walking closer, taking in the architecture, and spotting a nativity scene set up for Christmas.

It’s one of those travel memories that reminds me why I like leaving time in an itinerary to explore a city together.

I’ve lived near some of Florida’s most beautiful beaches and traveled to celebrated beach destinations around the world—so my standards for a truly exceptional beach are pretty high.

Anguilla still truly impressed me. 💙

Meads Bay has the kind of powder-soft sand and brilliant turquoise water people imagine when they dream about the Caribbean. But its beauty is only part of the appeal. It feels spacious, peaceful and refined, with beautiful resorts and restaurants nearby without the beach feeling crowded or overdeveloped.

Then there is Nims Nook, a small, tucked-away cove at the eastern end of the bay that feels like a secret little corner of Anguilla.

The Norway and Iceland cruise I’m hosting next June won’t simply take us to Norway—the journey itself will carry us through one of its spectacular fjords. 🇳🇴

On June 8, our ship will spend the day scenic cruising through Hardangerfjord, Norway’s second-longest fjord. Because we’ll visit in early June, I’m especially excited about the possibility of green slopes, flowing waterfalls, and lingering snow on the mountains.

This is a day when I won’t want to sleep late or rush indoors. The scenery will be unfolding around the ship as we sail deeper into the fjord.

That is part of what makes this itinerary so special: Norway’s fjords aren’t merely places we travel to. They become part of the journey itself.
