As we prepare to travel on our last road trip home I cant help but reflect on the journey we have made. I feel so grateful that Tim and I have been able to share this. Some of our highlights have been:

Sunsets and night skies
Stunning beaches and coastlines
Jaw dropping gorges and scenery in National Parks
Fascinating wildlife
Amazing people with great stories
Connection to our First Nations culture amd history
Spending time with the love of my life
Time with my dad
Being able to see, hear and feel all of this first hand and up close

What I am truly grateful for is being able to slow down and truly appreciate all of this

Now the goal is to bottle this feeling, take it home and achieve a good work life balance

What better way to spend the last couple of days on our trip with great friends. Thanks Susan Corbisiero and Paul for the great company great wine and food. Home cooked meals and chatting around the dinner table has been something we have dearly missed over the last few months. Loved checking out some of your favorite spots in McLarenvale too 😊

Back in the city again after many days exploring the countryside, enjoying the mountains, ranges, cliffs, whales and friendly people along the way

We were pretty happy to discover that the Clare Valley was only a 40 minute detour on the drive from Port Augusta to Adelaide so of course we had to take it. Stopped off at a few wineries and tasted some yummy drops

We arrived at our AirBnB to the friendliest of welcomes with a lovely note, bacon and eggs in the fridge and a bowl of pumpkin soup delivered to the door

Looking forward to catching up with friends and family here in Adelaide

Dinner tonight was lamb direct from the farm where we are staying. Yum!

It has been a lovely relaxing spring day in a beautiful setting. The spring weather certainly brought out the insects 🐝 and reptiles 🦎 Finishing the day with a drink as we watched the sunset was glorious 🌅

We are getting closer to home and today was lovely to take in some more nature before we head to Adelaide tomorrow

Everywhere we go on this trip brings us gifts of the beauty of nature

Nullarbor- Day 4

Nundroo to Port Augusta- 643klm

We set off this morning with a plan to stop at Minnipa which would be around 320klm. After a couple of hours on the road and a couple of short stops, we decided to keep going and get to Port Augusta. A long drive, in fact our biggest one yet, but well worth it after arriving at Spear Creek Caravan park

We have 2 nights here and a down day at the foot of the Flinders Ranges at a working Sheep farm.

Looking forward to a day relaxing in a beautiful setting

Nullarbor- Day 3

Eucla to Nundroo - 339klm

We began our day with coffee and a stunning view of the cliffs.

We then travelled across the border and left WA after a wonderful 7.5 weeks exploring this beautiful state

Today we again stopped at the Roadhouses for fuel as well as checking out what they have to offer before travelling to the Head of the Bight. We had heard it was a great place for 🐳 watching and were not disappointed. We hung around for over an hour watching a some Southern Right Whales and our patience paid off when we saw them breaching and playing.

We also ran into a group of car enthusiasts and their Toranas

😍😍🐳🐳 🚗

Nullarbor-Day 2

Balladonia to Eucla and a big day with 491klm.

We decided to make the trip a little more interesting by stopping at the roadhouses. The people, stories on the walls and food made for a good day. We had a yummy home made cookie and hot chocky at Mundrabilla

We also saw some spectacular views at Madura Pass and could see the ocean again when we reached Eucla. There was a 45 time difference as we entered a time zone I want even aware of called Australian Central Western Standard time

Nullarbor- Day 1

Esperance to Balladonia. Not much to see or do along this stretch. 422klm drive

Once we arrived in Balladonia we went to the museum and read some interesting stories about their history including the history of the camels 🐪 in Aus and a sky lab 🚀 which crashed into different parts of the south of WA in the late 70s. We were also at the start of the longest golf course ⛳️
