If I wasn't sitting next to him I wouldn't think it was real, but our Conquest pilot Hugh managed this exceptionally-timed snap of lightning emerging from one of the many thunderstorms that have dotted the East Coast this week.

With 3D weather radar and lightning Strikefinder equipment on board, backed up by detailed flight planning from , safely navigating these storms is all in days work for our experienced crew.

It's been a while since we've appeared on social media but that's doesn't mean we haven't been busy! On a cold winter night we welcomed our new C441 Conquest into the country, following a huge 14,000nm ferry by pilot Mark and the fantastic team at . VH-8BE is out flying with a new interior and avionics panel, adding great capability to our turboprop fleet.

It might have rained all week at our Armidale base but that didn't stop our experienced Conquest pilot Jack from covering an enormous number of miles in our turboprop workhorse.

Putting the aircraft's versatility and range on display, he finished with huge 2,940km single sector from Darwin to Armidale.

With reassurance from and the sweet sounds of "track direct Armidale" from the controllers at with over 1000nm to go, it was just another day at Edwards Aviation.
