So the old girl went out on its first outing today after 6 years in the resto stage! Considering we thought 12 months we’d have it finished! Endless hours, blood sweat and tears she’s still not 100% finish but it’s enough too show it off! Plenty of researching old photos too try replicate how she came out from factory!
Plenty of hours sourcing parts, dissembling, sandblasting and painting. Wire wheeling every original nut and bolt. Tracking down a torsion bar suspension. 15 speed direct. Managed to score the original steering wheel out of her many years later. Complete new interior and seats reupholstered.
Cab and sleeper completely rebuilt, engine, gearbox and diff heads rebuilt. 10 stud conversion on the drive as it came from factory. Original bull-bar fixed up and polished up.
She’s definitely been a labour of love but very worth it when it turned out this good! Massive thank you to all involved in this build from Geoff rebuilding the cab and sleeper top to bottom. Matt and the team from NQ commercial for the base colour on the cab and painting the rolling chassis. Damo and the team at Masterart for the paint job, line work and mural on the back! Thanks to Chris at QAE for nutting out the hacked wiring, Francis and the team at reflections for the polishing of the bullbar!
Few more finishing touches to go but she’s definitely came along way from rotting out in a paddock!
