Operations Supervisor / Transport Allocator

Dawson’s Haulage is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor / Transport Allocator to join our Toowoomba Produce Operations team.
This is a key operational role responsible for the day-to-day coordination of our Produce Operations, servicing customers and freight movements across West and North Queensland. We are looking for a capable, hands-on transport professional who understands the pace, pressure, and detail required to run regional freight operations successfully.

Dawson’s operates a modern fleet including prime movers, trailers, B-Doubles, Road Trains, extendables and specialised equipment, servicing a wide range of freight requirements across the country.
Our Produce division supports the rural sector with the reliable movement of stock feed, fertilisers, bulk seed, fencing materials and agricultural freight, servicing customers throughout key regional corridors.
The Role
Based at our Toowoomba / Wellcamp depot, the Operations Supervisor / Transport Allocator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth daily running of produce transport operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Coordinating daily freight movements across West and North Queensland
• Allocating drivers, equipment and loads efficiently
• Communicating with customers, drivers and internal operations teams
• Monitoring service performance, delivery requirements and operational priorities
• Supporting compliance with fatigue, mass, maintenance and safety obligations
• Managing day-to-day operational issues and resolving challenges quickly
• Ensuring freight is planned and delivered safely, efficiently and professionally
• Supporting a strong team culture focused on service, accountability and continuous improvement
About You
We are seeking an experienced transport industry professional who can bring leadership, practical knowledge and calm decision-making to a busy operational environment.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
• Previous experience in transport allocation, fleet supervision or operations management
• Strong understanding of regional transport, produce freight or general freight operations
• Minimum HC Driver’s Licence
• Strong communication skills with drivers, customers and management
• Ability to make decisions under pressure
• Good knowledge of fatigue, mass, Chain of Responsibility and transport compliance requirements
• Strong planning, problem-solving and organisational skills
• A practical, hands-on attitude and willingness to be part of a growing team
