An accident in central Launceston has caused delay to some services.

The 3.10pm 780 Launceston to Legana service, the 3.08pm 788 Launceston to Beauty Point service and the 3.15pm 784 Launceston to Rowella service are delayed up to around 15 minutes. We will be with you as soon as we can.

Police and other emergency services are at the scene of a three-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of York and Bathurst streets in Launceston.

At this stage, no serious injuries have been reported.

Motorists are advised that traffic will be diverted down Elizabeth Street and there may be delays. Please avoid the area while the scene is cleared.

⚠️ Service Delays – Central Launceston to West Tamar

Some of our services have been delayed following an accident in central Launceston.

The following services are currently running approximately 15 minutes behind schedule:

• Echidna school service to Grindelwald via Legana
• Launceston to Winkleigh school service
• Route 784 (4:05pm) from Launceston to Rowella
• Route 788 (4:05pm) from Launceston to Beauty Point

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

**Updated @ 4.15pm:

York Street, Launceston, is now clear from the earlier crash.

The pedestrian has been transported to the Launceston General Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Earlier:

Police are at the scene of a crash on York Street, Launceston, where a pedestrian has reportedly been struck by a vehicle.

York Street is closed at Wellington Street.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.

Details of injuries are not yet known.

Bus 5 Exeter schools - Some departure points along the route (Glengarry to Exeter via Flowery Gully) are running about 15 minutes behind schedule. Please stay at your stops we will be with you as soon as we can.

Due to an accident on the West Tamar Highway, our 787 service from Launceston to Beaconsfield has been detoured. This will affect the section of highway between the Motor Road and Batman Bridge turnoff- we will be unable to service this section.
Our 787 service Beaconsfield to Launceston at 12.00 will be delayed and likely detoured also.
If you are outside this section please wait at your stop and we will be with you as soon as we can.

A reminder that Saturday 25th April 2026 - Anzac Day - will operate on Saturday timetables.

We do have a road closure in Weld Street Beaconsfield, which will have a minor effect on a couple of our route 788 services.
- 9.45am from Launceston to Beauty Point
- 11.02am from Beauty Point to Launceston
Detours will be via Shaw and Bernard Streets.
It will mean the stops near Stephens Lane, will be unserviceable on these services.

We will drop and collect you as closely as you can - just remember to hail us for pickup

The Glengarry to Exeter via Winkleigh school bus service has had a breakdown. It is running about 25 minutes behind schedule. A replacement bus is on the way. Please stay at your stops and we will be with you as soon as we can.

Further to the post a little while ago, our 6.20pm 787 service from Launceston to Beaconsfield has also been diverted down Deviot Motor Road, we will be 5-10 minutes later than scheduled.

Our 5.20pm 788 General Access service from Launceston to Beauty Point as been diverted down Deviot Motor Road. We are currently running 15-20 minutes behind schedule.
