Storage space is one thing. Making good use of every square metre is another.
For this project, the client needed a dedicated storage space where equipment and materials could be kept organised, accessible and protected.

Instead of simply supplying an empty container, we fitted out the interior around the way the space needed to be used. Heavy-duty shelving was installed along both sides, leaving a clear central aisle so everything remains easy to reach. The container was also internally finished and equipped with lighting, power and climate control.

The result? A compact storage solution with a lot of usable capacity, without needing to construct additional permanent space on site.

And because it’s built inside a shipping container, the complete setup remains a flexible solution that can be positioned where the client needs it.

Set the temperature, close the doors and your re**er does its job. But what if those doors need to open all day? ❄️
That’s where an addition like this can come in handy.

These PVC strip curtains aren’t standard in every re**er container, but they can be added when the way you use the container calls for it.

Think about events, hospitality, catering, food storage or other busy sites where people regularly need to step inside to grab products. Every time the main doors open, warm outside air can enter and cold air can escape.

The strip curtains create an extra barrier while still allowing easy access. You simply walk through them, without having to open and close another solid door.

That can help reduce temperature fluctuations and makes them particularly useful when a re**er is being accessed frequently throughout the day.

It’s a relatively simple addition, but a smart one when you know how your re**er will actually be used.

A re**er container keeps things cool. But how cool, exactly? ❄️
That depends entirely on what you’re storing.

A re**er container can be set to maintain a specific temperature. You select the required setpoint on the controller, the refrigeration unit then works to bring the container to temperature and maintain it as consistently as possible.

And that setpoint can vary considerably depending on the cargo.
Fresh produce may require a temperature above freezing, chilled food and beverages are commonly kept at low positive temperatures, while frozen products generally require temperatures well below 0°C.

For example, depending on the product and its specific storage requirements:
🥬 Fresh produce: often around +2°C to +13°C
🥤 Chilled food & drinks: often around 0°C to +5°C
🧊 Frozen products: commonly around -18°C
❄️ Deep-frozen storage: can require temperatures below -20°C

One important detail: a re**er is primarily designed to maintain the required temperature. The correct setting also depends on the product, airflow, loading method and the re**er model being used.

Not every container project starts with a standard solution.
This one definitely didn’t.

This container has been extensively modified with multiple air-conditioning units, separate access points and a protected external installation. It’s the type of project where the technical requirements determine how the container needs to be built.

And that’s an important part of what we do at CBOX. Our modification work can go far beyond doors, windows and basic fit-outs. When a project has specific technical requirements, we can look at the application, work out what’s needed and build the container around it.

Not every job has an address. 🌿
Some projects happen on a busy construction site. Others take you a little further off the beaten track.

When work is carried out in more remote or temporary locations, the logistics around the project change too. There may be no warehouse around the corner, no permanent facilities and nowhere to simply leave materials or equipment at the end of the day.

That’s where a container can become part of the project setup.

For this job, a CBOX container was placed right where the work is happening, providing a practical base on location without the need for permanent infrastructure.

Because the project might be temporary, but that doesn’t mean the setup has to be improvised.

And we have to admit… this one landed itself a pretty good spot. 🌳

Next stop: modification.
Not every modification happens in one place.

Depending on what needs to be done, a container may need to leave our yard and travel to another location for specialist work before returning for the next stage.
And that’s all part of the process.

CBOX can manage a complete container modification from start to finish. From planning the modifications and carrying out the work, to coordinating transport and external specialist work when required.

A construction site needs more than tools, materials and people to keep things moving.
There’s the site office for planning and paperwork. A lunchroom for the crew to take a proper break. And of course, First Aid supplies need to be easy to find and accessible when required.
That’s where site office containers come in handy.

Here, several CBOX units create a practical setup with different functions, all together on site. Need another room? A different layout? More facilities as the project grows? Containers make it easy to adapt the setup around the job.

Some setups need a little more than finding the right spot and placing the container.

When multiple cabins or different units are connected on site, everything needs to come together properly. Positioning, connecting the units, taking care of the necessary connections and making sure the complete setup is ready for use.
That’s where on-site service comes in.

For this project, several types of cabins were brought together to create one practical setup. And once everything arrives on site, there’s still work to be done before the doors can officially open.

A bit more involved than dropping off a container and waving goodbye. 😉

Take a shipping container. Add large glass sliding doors. And suddenly, storage is probably the last thing that comes to mind.

This modified container shows just how much you can change the character of a solid steel box.

The large glass panels bring in plenty of natural light, create an open feel and connect the inside with whatever is happening outside.
And that opens up quite a few possibilities.

Turn it into a showroom or display space for your business. Create a backyard studio or home office. Use it as a poolside room, sales office or a comfortable space on site.
Keep the doors closed and you’ve got a bright, protected indoor space. Slide them open and suddenly inside and outside become one.

That’s the fun part of container modification.

You don’t have to work around what a shipping container is.
You can turn it into what you need it to be.

And this one? We’d say it’s got a pretty bright future. 😉

Renovating a retail space doesn’t necessarily mean everything else has to stop.
Customers still need to visit. Staff still need to work. And preferably, everyone notices as little of the disruption as possible.

That means thinking beyond the actual construction work.

Where will staff take their break if their usual space is unavailable? What happens when bathrooms are temporarily out of use? Where can you create an extra workspace while part of the building is being renovated?

Temporary container facilities can solve exactly those kinds of problems.

Sanitary facilities, lunchrooms, site offices or additional staff space can be placed right outside the building and be ready for use while construction continues inside.
Once the renovation is finished, they simply move on to the next job.

Less disruption. More business as usual.

Because the builders may need some extra space, but they don’t need to take over the whole show. 😉
