7/8/26 - The Warburton Groove: The hydrological conduit which usually delivers most of the water that enters Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre. The water originates thousands of kilometers north in tropical inland Queensland, traveling down river systems like the Diamantina, Georgina, and Eyre Creek. It then flows down the Warburton River and into this primary natural entry channel before it spreads out across the northern basin and travels south toward Belt Bay, the lowest point on the Australian continent (roughly 15 meters below sea level).
