🚨 Important Update🚨

Sadly the Wilba bus was broken into yesterday evening and the bus badly damaged. The police responded swiftly to the scene and have arrested those responsible.

As a result, the Wilba bus service will be temporarily closed until the vehicle is repaired and cleared for operation. We’re working as quickly as possible to get everything back on track and will keep you updated on our progress.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to resume service soon.

Wilba Bus Fares! 💸🚌

At Wilba, we believe in making travel around Bourke affordable and convenient for everyone. Here’s everything you need to know about our fares:

💳 All-Day Pass:

$5 for adults
$2.50 for children (ages 6-17) and concession card holders
Enjoy unlimited rides all day!

🚌 One-Way Fares (0-3km):

$2.30 for adults
$1.15 for children (ages 6-17) and concession card holders

🚌 One-Way Fares (3km or more):

$3.30 for adults
$1.65 for children (ages 6-17) and concession card holders

👶 Children 0-5 travel for free on Wilba!

👨‍👧‍👦 Traveling with children? Children 15 years and under must travel with an adult over 18.

💳 Payment: You can pay before departure on board with card or cash. To keep things running smoothly, please have exact change ready if paying in cash.

🚫 For safety reasons, our drivers do not carry large amounts of change, so $20 and $50 notes cannot be accepted.

How Does Wilba-On-Demand (Bourke's on-demand public bus service) Work? 🚌💡

At Wilba, we’re here to make your journey simple, safe, and efficient! Here’s how our service works:

🚍 Book Your Ride: Book your trip by calling 9071 0139, through our Wilba-On-Demand app, or directly with the driver if it's safe to do so. Provide your name, phone number, number of passengers, pick-up, and drop-off locations.

📱 Booking Confirmation: Once your booking is confirmed, you'll receive notifications with the bus stop location and the bus’s arrival time. We'll even notify you when the bus is approaching!

🚏 Bus Stop Service: We operate from bus stop to bus stop with over 75 stops across Bourke. Our call centre or app will direct you to the closest stop.

⏰ No Waiting Policy: We're a busy little bus service doing up to 100 trips a day. Please be ready at your stop when the bus arrives to avoid delays for other passengers. The bus can’t wait beyond your scheduled pick up time. If you miss it, simply rebook!

🚐 Shared Service: Our buses may stop to pick up and drop off other passengers. If you're in a hurry, let us know your preferred arrival time and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

👵 Accessibility Needs: Door-to-door service is available for those with accessibility needs or heavy bags. You can book this by phone or through the app, but not directly with the driver.

💳 Affordable Fares: Wilba offers an all-day pass for just $5, giving you unlimited rides all day long. Concessions and children can ride for $2.50. You can pay on board with cash or card—whichever is easiest for you! Please have small change ready if paying with cash.

🛠️ Changes & Assistance: If you need to make changes to your booking or require additional assistance, contact the call centre. We’re here to help!

At Wilba, we understand that everyone’s needs are different. If you have accessibility needs or are carrying heavy bags, you can request our door-to-door service.

Please let our call centre staff know at the time of booking, as our drivers can't make this change for you. We’ll arrange to pick you up right at your door.

We want to say a big thank you to Leilani Elwood for everything she did for Wilba during her time as Manager of Bourke Operations. Leilani has been an incredible manager, working tirelessly to operate the bus service and meet the needs of the Bourke community. Her warm heart and love for the community have achieved remarkable outcomes at Wilba, and we are deeply grateful for her dedication and hard work in ensuring the smooth operation of our on-demand bus service in Bourke. Leilani, you will be missed by the entire team and we wish you all the best in your new chapter.

We are also excited to announce the appointment of Alan Seekamp from Bourke Bus Service as our new Manager of Bourke Operations, starting from Wednesday, 3 July 2024. Alan joins us with extensive experience in local transport operations and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our community.
