🚛 THE MYSTERY OF THE DELAYED SECOND JOB!

Or... why removalists sometimes need a crystal ball! 🔮😂

Picture this. It's 7 am, the sun is shining, the truck is spotless, the boys have had their coffee, and we're off to a nice, straightforward three-bedroom move.

What could possibly go wrong?

Famous last words! 😂

We arrive to discover the three-bedroom house has somehow grown into FIVE bedrooms overnight. Apparently, the garage, study and shed don't count as rooms!

No worries. We've got this.

Except... the boxes aren't packed.

And the lift hasn't been booked.

And the couch doesn't fit in the lift.

Then, just when things are looking up, the lift decides to go DOWN. Three floors, to be precise, before getting stuck. 😳

Fantastic. We're now starring in our very own episode of Moving Day Disasters.

Eventually, we're back in business. The truck is loaded, the boys are sweating, and we're ready to head off.

"Oh, by the way, could we just drop a few things at Mum's place on the way?"

Of course! What's another suburb between friends? 😂

Then Brisbane decides to join the party.

The heavens open, the driveway becomes a waterslide, and the Gateway turns into the world's longest car park.

Meanwhile, back at the office...

Our lovely second customer is wondering why the removalists haven't arrived.

And we're wondering whether anyone sells crystal balls with Google Maps installed! 🔮

HERE'S THE THING... ❤️

We can plan trucks, teams, routes and schedules down to the minute, but we can't predict every surprise moving day throws at us.

And we certainly won't rush through someone's belongings just to make the next booking. We wouldn't do that to you either!

So when you're booked as our second job, your arrival time is always an estimate, not a guarantee.

We'll keep you updated, we'll get there as soon as we reasonably can, and we'll bring the same care, energy and good humour to your move.

OUR ADVICE? If you've got settlement deadlines, lift bookings or somewhere important to be, grab a first-up morning booking whenever possible.

Because in the removals industry, there's no such thing as a boring day... and sometimes a three-bedroom move really does have five bedrooms, two extra stops and a broken lift! 🤣

👑🇦🇺 HAPPY KING’S BIRTHDAY, QUEENSLAND!

If you woke up this morning, realised it was Monday and then remembered you don't have to go to work — congratulations.

The King has already done something useful for you today. 😂

There's something wonderfully Australian about celebrating the birthday of a King who lives on the other side of the world by having a Monday off and firing up the BBQ.

And we're completely on board with it.

For most of us, a public holiday isn't really about whatever happens to be written on the calendar.

It's a chance to slow down for a day.

Spend some time with the family. Catch up with mates. Get outside. Fire up the BBQ.

Or tackle absolutely none of those jobs you've been promising to do around the house.

Tomorrow we'll be back to helping people move homes, businesses and approximately 14 million boxes labelled “MISC.”

A Little Preparation Can Save a Lot of Time 🚛📦

When it comes to moving, time really is money — and a little preparation before your removalists arrive can make a huge difference.

Two homes with exactly the same amount of furniture can take very different amounts of time to move. Stairs, lifts, long walking distances, parking, difficult access, loose items and even waiting for keys can all add time to your day.

The good news? There’s plenty you can do to help keep things moving.

Book your lifts and loading zones, secure the closest possible truck access, have everything packed and sealed, move small manageable items downstairs if you can, and make sure your removalist knows about any access challenges before the day.

Most importantly, give us an accurate picture of what you’re moving and where we’re moving it from and to. The better prepared we all are, the more efficiently our team can work — helping you keep both your moving time and budget under control.

Tell Us the Important Stuff — It Can Change Your Whole Move!

When booking your move, the little details can make a BIG difference to how we plan your day.

🏠 Settlement or double settlement?
Please tell us! Settlement days can be unpredictable, particularly when you’re selling and buying on the same day. Delayed settlements, late key releases or timing changes can leave a fully loaded removal truck sitting and waiting — and put your whole move under pressure.

Depending on your situation, we may recommend uplifting the day before and storing your belongings overnight, or loading directly into a container for short-term storage. Sometimes separating the uplift and delivery is the safest and most cost-effective option, removing the pressure of trying to coordinate two settlements, keys and a removal truck all on the same day.

💪 Got something seriously heavy?
Pool table, safe, stone table, oversized pot or anything over 120kg? We need to know beforehand. Heavy items may require extra movers, specialist equipment or a different truck. Knowing in advance means we can arrive properly prepared.

🚚 Tricky access?
Steep driveway, stairs, lifts, loading docks, long walks, low clearance or nowhere to park? Tell us that too. Access can affect the truck we send, the crew required and how long your move may take.

The more we know, the better we can plan — and good planning means a safer, smoother and more cost-effective move.

🐍 5 BEDROOMS. 5 SNAKES. ONE VERY DIFFERENT MOVING DAY! 🚛

We’ve moved plenty of 5-bedroom homes over the years, but our recent Chinchilla to Brisbane move came with some rather unusual housemates — five snakes and their five vivariums!

Along with moving the household, our team carefully handled each vivarium, making sure everything was protected and ready for the journey to Brisbane.

The snakes turned out to be pretty easy customers — no complaints about the drive, no asking “are we there yet?” and absolutely no arguments about where the furniture should go. 😂🐍

RAINY MOVING DAY? DON’T LET YOUR WHITE COUCH BECOME A MUDDY MASTERPIECE! ☔

We recently moved a lovely family in Kedron on one of those Brisbane days where the rain simply refused to take the hint and go away.
But these guys were READY.

Mattresses wrapped in plastic. Light-coloured couches covered. Old towels and mats waiting at the doors. Clear pathways for the team.
The result? Despite the rain, the move ran beautifully, the furniture stayed clean and dry, and nobody ended the day staring sadly at muddy footprints on a white couch!

Our simple rainy-day tip: grab plastic mattress and couch covers before moving day. You can pick them up from Bunnings for around $5—a tiny investment compared with having a mattress or couch professionally cleaned.

• Cover mattresses and light-coloured furniture
• Put old towels or mats at entrances
• Keep pathways clear
• Let us know about uncovered or difficult access
