⚠️🚨 ROAD CLOSURE - NEW ENGLAND HIGHWAY, ABERDEEN! 🚨⚠️

❌ The New England Highway (Macqueen Street) is closed in both directions at Aberdeen, between Bedford Street and Graeme Street, due to a building fire.

🔀 Light vehicles are diverting via local roads.

❗Heavy vehicles are being parked up and should allow extra travel time.

⚠️Stroy Bridge Nightworks⚠️

Brisbane City Council will be undertaking further pavement investigation works on the southern approach of the Story Bridge on Wednesday 2 September 2026, between 9pm and 5am (weather and site conditions permitting).

There will be multiple lane closures in place during the works with Police and traffic control on site.

We are proud to be running our Driving Futures transport training program in Cairns, commencing 31 August.

It's designed for newly employed people in transport and warehousing business who haven't had any formal training and people wanting to get entry-level training and a truck or forklift license to get a start in the industry.
The program is fully funded by the Queensland Government and each free place is valued up to $10K per person. Places are limited.

Seeing new places meeting new people and catching up with some old ones is gold.

Headed west to Charters Towers and met with Charters Towers Regional Council Mayor Liz Schmidt to talk about local disaster management, all things roads and bridges and then to Curley Cattle Transport Pty Ltd. (Once we found it 🤦‍♀️) and had a yarn with Percy about how the industry is trying to be fixed with more rules. 😩
We didn’t have long enough though to sort it out 🤷‍♀️
Nothing better than meeting members at their door. 👍

This week we are in NQ. Today Emma and Lisa Qta are off to Charters Towers so we had a quick stop at Bp Truck Stop Townsville for a quick refuel. Of course we had to take a few truck pics 😉
