🚜 The difference between smooth clearance and costly delays?
Preparation.

When exporting machinery to Australia, small missed details can lead to:
❌ Wash bay holds
❌ Extra cleaning costs
❌ Delivery delays

The most common problem areas?
• Undercarriages
• Wheel arches and tracks
• Engine bays
• Hydraulic joints and hidden spaces

That’s why proper cleaning before departure matters.
To help reduce inspection risks, we’ve created a practical Equipment Washing Checklist based on real project experience.

✅ Easy to use
✅ Focused on high-risk areas
✅ Designed to help keep shipments moving

Steel imports are becoming more complex across Australian ports.
With tighter safety controls, evolving terminal procedures, and increasing pressure on delivery timelines, successful steel logistics now requires far more than simply booking transport.

For heavy cargo like:
✔️ Sheet piles
✔️ Structural steel
✔️ Project cargo

planning and operational coordination have become critical to avoiding delays and additional costs.

As the industry evolves, proactive logistics ex*****on is becoming a major advantage for importers and project teams.

We’ll be sharing more insights soon into what’s changing across steel logistics operations in Australia. Full blog here: https://kenter.com.au/why-steel-imports-are-becoming-more-operationally-complex-in-australia/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=steel+imports

Important update for businesses involved in biosecurity, imports, and food regulation. 📢📢📢

From 1 July 2026, proposed changes to biosecurity and imported food regulatory activities are expected to take effect, including updates across quarantine processes, diagnostic services, and regulatory operations.

The proposed measures aim to strengthen regulatory delivery, improve operational processes, and support the continued protection of Australia’s biosecurity system.

Stakeholders across the industry are encouraged to review the updates and prepare for the upcoming changes.

🚜 Exporting machinery to Australia?
Before your equipment ships, ask yourself this:
✔ Are the undercarriages fully cleaned?
✔ Have wheel arches and tracks been checked?
✔ Is there hidden residue in engine bays or joints?

These small details are some of the biggest causes of wash bay delays during Australian biosecurity inspections.

To help reduce the risk, we’ve created a practical Equipment Washing Checklist based on real project experience.

✅ Easy to follow

⚠️ Why Does Equipment Get Held at Australian Wash Bays?

It’s usually not because of major contamination.
More often, delays are caused by small, overlooked details that are easy to miss before export.

Some of the most common issues include:
• Dirt trapped in undercarriages
• Residue in wheel arches or tracks
• Build-up in engine bays
• Mud packed into hydraulic lines and joints
• Inconsistent cleaning standards across equipment

The problem?
Many of these areas look “clean enough” at first glance, but they’re exactly where inspectors focus during biosecurity checks.

Once equipment is flagged, it can lead to:
❌ Wash bay delays
❌ Additional cleaning costs
❌ Schedule disruptions

From what we’ve seen, avoiding delays isn’t just about cleaning equipment—it’s about knowing where to look.

To help reduce these risks, we’ve put together a practical Equipment Washing Checklist based on real project experience.

🚧 Equipment delays aren’t always caused by shipping…
Sometimes, they happen at the wash bay.

When machinery arrives in Australia, strict biosecurity checks can flag:
• Dirt & soil
• Plant residue
• Hidden contamination

And if that happens?
➡️ Your equipment gets held for cleaning
➡️ Your schedule gets delayed
➡️ Your costs increase

The tricky part?
It’s usually the small, hidden details that cause the problem.
👉 Undercarriages
👉 Engine compartments
👉 Hard-to-reach areas

From what we’ve seen, preparation before departure makes all the difference.

We recently helped move equipment into Brisbane with zero wash bay delays—simply by getting the cleaning right at the origin.

We’ll be sharing a practical washing checklist soon 👀

No room for delay.
✔ Pre-cleaned to meet biosecurity requirements
✔ No wash bay hold-ups
✔ Full coordination from origin to delivery

The result?
On time. Compliant. Auction-ready.
