As a freight mover, we can deal with very different load conditions from day to day, requiring constant adjustment in handling and preparation.
One day can involve manually loading and unloading second-hand equipment in difficult conditions, while the next may involve fully crated freight ready for straightforward transport.
This week was a good example of those contrasts. I took a load from North of Brisbane to down past Bega, where nobody was on-site, so I had to unload and position the equipment myself near a busy road with limited parking, which required extra vigilance.
Contrasting that was a simple run down to Melbourne to pick up a crated mower. That mower was delivered today between Bathurst and Orange, where the receiver and his neighbour helped unload with a tractor before an easy trip back into Sydney.
A highlight of the week though was I saw a lot of beautiful country and meet some great people.
