Working in my garden and found birdwing butterfly caterpillar (family Papilionidae) resting on and eating the host plant I have growing. Such a delight to have them in my backyard. Jade vine also is blooming everywhere. Another reason I love living in Cairns.

Congratulations Kuranda Scenic Rail 135 years - 26th June Opened in 1891, the railway was originally built to connect Cairns with inland goldfields following severe wet seasons that made supply routes unreliable. Constructed between 1886 and 1891, it remains one of Queensland’s most ambitious engineering achievements, with up to 1,500 workers overcoming challenging terrain to build the line.

Cairns has so much to offer other than tours. Our local Cairns Performing Arts centre CPAC offers great shows. Saw Priscilla tonight with friends. So so good.
