Do you know a bus driver who deserves to be recognised?

Nominations for the 2026 Queensland Bus Driver of the Year Awards are now open!

If you’ve had a great experience with one of our Whitsunday Transit drivers, we’d love for you to take a moment to nominate them.

It could be a driver who is always friendly and welcoming, has gone out of their way to help, or simply makes your regular bus trip a better experience.

And you don’t need to know their name to nominate. Just provide the route, where you got on and where you got off, along with what made that driver stand out to you.

✨ Whitsunday Transit at the Mayor’s Ball – Whispers of the West

On Saturday, 25 July 2026, Whitsunday Transit was proud to attend and support the Mayor’s Ball – Whispers of the West. 🤠✨

Our Operations Manager, Ian Paczensky, and his wife Nathalia, were joined by Chris and Jade for a fantastic evening celebrating our wonderful Whitsunday community.

As a proud sponsor of the event, Whitsunday Transit was delighted to help make the night a success by providing free shuttle bus services, ensuring guests could travel safely and conveniently to and from the event.

It was a fantastic evening filled with great company, celebration and community spirit, and we were honoured to play a small part in helping everyone enjoy the night safely.

A big thank you to the organisers, fellow sponsors and everyone who attended and made the Mayor’s Ball – Whispers of the West such a memorable evening!

Leave the car at home and let Whitsunday Transit get you to and from STONKA safely.

🗓️ Bus Operating Hours:
📍 Thursday: 1:00pm – 10:45pm
📍 Friday – Sunday: 10:30am – 10:45pm

🚌 Shuttle Route
Our buses will be running continuous loops between Dingo Beach Hotel and Cape Gloucester, making it easy to get to and from the event throughout the day.

There are no fixed departure times—our drivers will keep the buses moving based on demand to minimise wait times. If a bus reaches capacity, it will return as quickly as possible for the next trip.

To help us keep the service running safely and smoothly:
✅ Please be patient during busy periods.
✅ Respect our drivers and fellow passengers. Anyone displaying abusive or inappropriate behaviour may be refused travel.

Free Bus Shuttles to the Mayor’s Ball – Saturday 25th 🎉

Heading to the Mayor’s Ball on Saturday night? We’ve made getting there and home again easy with free bus shuttle services!

🚌 Departing from Shute Harbour, all stops to the PEC
⏰ Buses will run from 4:00pm onwards

🚌 Returning from the PEC, all stops to Shute Harbour
⏰ Return services will commence from 10:00pm onwards

The shuttle service is free of charge for all guests.

Please see the attached timetable for full departure times and plan your evening accordingly.
