A 65-foot custom aluminium day charter catamaran built for Faraway Yachting Charters, operating out of Ao Chalong, Phuket.

A vessel this size - running back-to-back charter days in tropical conditions - needs propulsion that shows up every time. No excuses, no downtime.

The solution was twin NANNI N5.150s. 152hp each, built on a proven John Deere base, turbocharged and shaft driven.

Engineered to match the hull and the demands of commercial charter work.

A Sunreef 70 repowered with twin NANNI N5.230 CR2s.

228hp per side, 640 Nm of torque, built on a proven John Deere base with Common Rail injection and air-to-coolant aftercooling.

A boat built to this standard deserved an engine solution to match. The brief was simple - reliable, powerful, and properly engineered for blue water sailing.

That's exactly what was delivered.

It's coming into the cooler months, that's when the real work starts.

Here's what often gets overlooked after a busy boating season:
✔️ Impeller condition - heat and reduced running hours accelerate wear
✔️ Coolant concentration - worth checking before winter storage
✔️ Raw water strainer - fouled strainers restrict flow and load the impeller
✔️ Zincs - check and replace if more than 50% depleted
✔️ Fuel filter - often the first thing to cause issues after a period off the water

Planned maintenance costs a fraction of an unplanned breakdown.
