Custom stainless steel exhaust risers - fabricated in-house.

When off-the-shelf doesn't fit the application, we build it. Every weld, every measurement, every angle matched to the vessel.

It's the kind of work that doesn't get seen once the engine room hatch closes - but it's what separates a proper installation from a patch job.

Built right. Built to last.

Cameraman's sea legs still a work in progress 📹 😉

The Island Gypsy 320 turning heads at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show last week.

A purpose-built Twin Cabin Sedan Cruiser powered by a NANNI N4.140 propulsion engine and Q500-5CM50 generator set.

We've been busy behind the scenes, content dropping soon that gets right into the engine and genset detail with Steve. Watch this space!

It's coming into the cooler months, that's when the real work starts.

Here's what often gets overlooked after a busy boating season:
✔️ Impeller condition - heat and reduced running hours accelerate wear
✔️ Coolant concentration - worth checking before winter storage
✔️ Raw water strainer - fouled strainers restrict flow and load the impeller
✔️ Zincs - check and replace if more than 50% depleted
✔️ Fuel filter - often the first thing to cause issues after a period off the water

Planned maintenance costs a fraction of an unplanned breakdown.

Our team is based in Capalaba and services vessels across SE Queensland.

Engine matching is one of the most important and often most misunderstood parts of a marine repower.

Get it wrong and you'll see poor fuel economy, reduced engine life, driveline stress, and performance that doesn't match the vessel.

Get it right and everything works the way it should. Bigger isn't always better - reliability and longevity are.

We're back with servicing chat!

Tri‑annual servicing goes further again and is designed to address long‑term wear and cooling system performance.

In addition to annual and bi‑annual items, this service typically includes:
✔️Draining coolant and removing heat exchangers, aftercoolers and oil coolers
✔️Acid cleaning of cooling cores and refitting with new seals and corrosion protection
✔️Refilling with new coolant and checking pressure caps
✔️Removal and inspection of exhaust mixing elbow
✔️Inspection and alignment of engine mounts
✔️Valve clearance checks and timing belt replacement where required
✔️Optional diagnostic scan on electronic engines

This level of servicing is essential for maintaining performance and avoiding major failures.

For planing hulls and sterndrive applications, performance is not just about peak horsepower - it is about usable torque, smooth acceleration and efficient cruising.

That is where the NANNI Z4.270 stands apart.

Built on a proven Toyota engine base, this compact 2.98 litre inline four is engineered for strong mid-range performance and responsive handling across a wide operating range.

Key performance highlights:
✔ 265 hp at 3600 rpm
✔ Approx. 660 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm
✔ Turbocharged with intercooler for efficient power delivery
✔ High power density in a compact footprint

With common-rail fuel injection and electronic control, the Z4.270 delivers precise fuel delivery, improved efficiency and smooth, low-noise operation.

Engineered for real-world use:
✔ Closed cooling with heat exchanger
✔ 4-cylinder, 4-valve design for durability and balance
✔ Sterndrive compatibility for flexible installations
✔ IMO and EPA compliant for modern applications

A practical propulsion solution for vessels that demand performance, reliability and ease of integration.

Amitie recently underwent a repower, upgrading from a 7.4L V8 petrol engine to a NANNI Z4.270 diesel. Delivering clear improvements in efficiency, safety and overall performance.

The numbers behind Amitie:
👉 LOA: 28’
👉 Weight: 4 tonnes
👉Engine: NANNI Z4.270
👉 Power: 265 hp @ 3600 rpm
👉 Drive: Bravo 3X sterndrive (2:1 reduction)
👉 Cruise speed: 18–20 knots
👉 Top speed: 25 knots

With updated instrumentation and a clean, integrated install, the result is a more practical and reliable setup suited to how the vessel is actually used.

A well-executed repower is not just about changing engines - it is about improving the entire system.

Meet Amitie, a Flybridge Cruiser – Bayliner Ciera 2858. Designed for comfortable coastal boating with reliable performance.

Built in GRP and weighing approximately 4 tonnes, Amitie balances cruising comfort with a propulsion setup suited to efficient planing speeds and responsive handling.

Now powered by a NANNI Z4.270, this installation reflects a considered approach to repowering - matching modern diesel performance to the vessel’s design and use.

Configured with a sterndrive setup, the package delivers smooth acceleration, practical cruising speeds and dependable control in a range of on-water conditions.

Amitie is a strong example of how a well-matched diesel solution can improve both usability and long-term reliability.

Part 2 tomorrow...we’ll take a closer look at the repower outcome.
