Our work has lead to the launch of the World Sailing Offshore Special Regulations (OSR) In-build Validation (IBV) scheme. To be administered by the Technical and Offshore office of World Sailing, it will extend and enhance the existing Structural Plan Review scheme.

What does this mean? For the first time, with effect for yachts with Age Date from 01/2020 racing in events that use the OSR in Categories 0, 1 and 2, detailed plan review of the keel structural design and installation will be carried out. Roles and responsibilities will be identified for keel structural designer, keel manufacturer and installer and keel surveyor. Physical checks will be carried out:

What is designed = What is built

WS recognised Notified Bodies will participate.
