A fantastic day yesterday for our Signature Day at Yeppoon Golf Club.

It was great to be back again and to see a full field of 144 golfers take to the course. There were plenty of laughs, some great and not so great shots, and many drinks

The support we receive from the CQ golf community is amazing and very much appreciated, so it's nice to be able to give back a little. It's very rare that we have a tour or event that doesn't have a CQ golfer involved in it, so thank you for trusting us with your golf holidays and we look forward to seeing you all on many more over the years to come.

Thanks to Yeppoon Golf Club for hosting us again this year, and to members Rob, Mick, Al & Kath, Phil & Gayelene for doing all the organising and inviting us to be apart of the day again. It's really their day as they do all the hard yards!

Congratulations to Trevor and the grounds team on the course as well. It is looking fantastic, especially given the dry run of weather you've had.

On to the winners for the day.

Sadly, our Scotland Tour has come to an end, but not without many memories.

For our last round of the trip, we took on Dundonald Links, which was the host of the ladies Scottish Open just the week prior to our visit. As expected, the course was in top shape and provided a tough challenge to all players.

Later that evening, we held our farewell dinner where everyone had the chance to share their stories and best moments from the trip with friends new and old.

Thanks to all our wonderful guests for joining us on this special trip, as well as to the golf courses, hotels, drivers and guides for looking after us so well and showing us the best of Scotland.

We all can't wait to get back again 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It's been a busy few days for us in Scotland.

Monday we departed St Andrews for a couple of nights in Edinburgh to unwind and relax. We took in a couple days of sightseeing with the Edinburgh Dungeons, Johnnie Walker Experience, Old Town, Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. Edinburgh is a great city and full of history, so make sure you save time for a visit if you're ever in Scotland.

Next it was on to the West Coast at Troon for the last four nights of the trip. We're getting looked after veey well at the Piersland House Hotel, which was the originally the home of Sir Alexander Walker, grandson of Johnnie Walker, and creator of Johnnie Walker Red and Black Label. It was transformed into a hotel in 1975.

Wednesday we had our third round of the tour at Glasgow Gailes Golf Club. The weather caught up to us a little bit as we had showers for roughly half the round, although once it stopped it was a beautiful day. The course was a fantastic, traditional links course and was in great condition. They are also hosting the British Boys Amateur in a week or so.

Thursday was another of our big rounds for the trip, at Royal Troon Golf Club, host of the 2024 Open Championship won by Xander Schauffele. What a treat to play a course of this stature! Again, presented in fantastic condition and a stunning course. The first nine holes played downwind making things feel a little easier, but that soon changed as we made our way back in for the second nine and played back into the wind. What a day. Good luck to the proshop staff who need to do some stock reordering after we all finished in there!

Today, was a leisurely day with a visit to Culzean Castle and Robert Burns Cottage and Musuem, before our last round of the trip tomorrow at Dundonald Links, which hosted the ladies Scottish Open just last week, so it should be in amazing condition as well.

An update on the last few days here in Scotland.

Our guests arrived on Friday and got settled into the beautiful Fairmont St Andrews for the first portion of our trip. That evening, we had a fantastic welcome dinner where guests were piped in by a couple of incredibly talented local pipers.

Saturday, we started the day off with an Old Course walking tour hosted by local knowledgeable guides, followed by a tour of the World Golf Museum.

Then it was onto the St Andrews Eden Course for our first round of the tour. It was a nice course to ease us into the swing of links golf. Well, it would have been of not for the typical Scottish wind which wreaked a bit of havoc amongst the group.

Today, we set off down the road for a big round. Current Open Rota course and the also the hardest Open Rota course, Carnoustie Golf Links. The course was in excellent condition, and we were greeted with a beautiful day with just a light breeze. A couple of quick showers couldn't put a damper on the moods though.

Tomorrow, we leave St Andrews to head to Edinburgh for a couple of nights for some sightseeing.

Another 36 hole day yesterday, with the day starting at the New Course at Trump International Golf Links Aberdeen.

A big, brash and over the top course (surprise surprise), it doesn't fit the mould of a traditional Scottish links. More of an American links style course.

The hole designs are solid from tee to green, but the greens are well overdone, with severe slopes and valleys and steep drop offs.

The course really starts to shine from the 8th to the 14th though as it gets out into the dunes, winding itself around the natural landscape.

All in all, not too bad, but we're here for traditional links courses, which I wouldn't put it into that category.

In the afternoon, we ventured to Cruden Bay Golf Club for iur second round of the day. The club opened in 1899 and is ranked 70th in the world.

A wild, raw links that weaves through the landscape with a great mix of holes. The course has a little bit of everything with fantastic par 3's, short and long par 4's, and some reachable par 5's.

In true Scottish summer condition with hard and fast fairways and true greens. Definitely worth a visit.

Next up for our trip, we headed back to Cabot Highlands to try out the newest course in Scotland, Old Petty, which has only been open for a couple of months.

The course complements Castle Stuart so well and is a fantastic addition to the Highlands golfing list.

Although not beside the Firth like Castle Stuart, the views throughtout the course are stunning and there are a lot of standout holes. Don't be surprised if you see it break into the top 100 courses in the world in the coming years.

Following our round, we left Inverness to head to Aberdeen for the next few nights. We took a little detour to play some more golf at Cullen Golf Club.

An Old Tom Morris course, it is like nothing else you'll play. Unique, quirky and addictively fun. The biggest features of the course are the shear cliff faces and the Red Sandstone Rocks. Plus some of the best greens you'll find anywhere!

There are several par 3's that play from either ground level up to a green perched on the top of the cliff, or from the top of the cliff to a green set below. And don't forget about the blind par 3's that play over and around the sandstone rocks!

Fantastic fun and a worthy inclusion to any Highland trip.
