Round three yesterday at Victoria Golf Club, and what a day it was.

Call it good planning 😜 or just good luck, but we managed to run into the course right in the middle of their club championships, so it was in excellent condition.

Fast and firm greens running at over 13 on the stimpmeter, which managed to catch a few people out, perfect fairways and tricky bunkers, we had it all.

It's hard not to take a whole heap of photos for me personally, as it's my favourite course, so enjoy the good ones that I did get.

Round two of the Sandbelt Trophy today at Woodlands Golf Club. A pretty good day weather wise, with a quick passing shower the only thing to slow us down, but hey, have to expect some not so pleasant weather in Melbourne.

Always nice to be back at Woodlands and great to see they are putting in some hard work and improvements to keep them as one of the top courses in the country.

Sandbelt Trophy

We kicked off our Sandbelt Trophy week last night with dinner at The Pub at our host hotel, Crown Promenade.

Today, we headed to The Metropolitan Golf Club for our first round of the trip. The course was in great shape, and the greens were impressive as always, especially since they have all gone through a replacement over the past couple of years.

It was a wet and dreary morning, but luckily the sun came out for our afternoon sh***un start.

Sadly, today brings an end to our trip, but what an amazing two weeks we've had through South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Two days ago here in Victoria Falls, we had a round of golf at Elephant Hills Golf Club, which is another Gary Player designed course. Condition wise, it was a bit rundown, but it was only meant to be a bonus day if golf anyway. Everyone had a great day out still and it was fun to keep an eye on all the wildlife running around the course. Water Buck, Impala, Warthog, Kudu, Monkeys, and Crocodile.

After golf, we attended the Boma Dinner and Dance at the resort for our final group dinner. The food was delicious and the show a great spectacle.

Yesterday, we took in a game drive in the morning for a last chance to spot the local wildlife. It was a wet and chilly morning, especially in the open air vehicles, but worth a little discomfort(see last photo!) Getting to see Elephants, Giraffes, Zebra, and much more up close and personal is hard to top. We've been very lucky enough to spot so many different animals throughout the trip.

Following the game drive, we had a tour of the majestic Victoria Falls, which was fantastic. Even though only in low season, it was still a wonderful experience. The amount of water and force going through during high season would be incredible.

Some of our crew took their own tour through the Zambezi side of the Falls, where they visited Devil's Pool, which is situated right on the top of the Falls. Taking a speed boat through the River, then walking to the very edge of the falls for a swim and some photos. Thankfully they all came back in one piece! (See photo of another group on the edge).

Now we await our flight back to Johannesburg for everyone's departure home and back to reality.

We're planning another trip to South Africa in 2028 and can't wait to return.

We had a lovely day yesterday for our last day in South Africa. Starting with a trip to Table Mountain, where unfortunately we couldn't get to the top via cable car as it was too windy to operate. Still, the views over the city where stunning.

We moved along to Signal Hill, where again we were treated to some special views of the city, Table Mountain, Lion's Head, and Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years imprisoned.

It was then off to do some w**e tasting through the Stellenbosch w**ery region. Starting at Fairview for w**e and cheese pairing, then to Marianne for lunch and tasting, before finishing at Le Pommier.

Fun fact. The flagship Floréal 2004 red blend from Marianne Estate was personally selected by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey to be served at
Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday celebration at Buckingham Palace.

Today, we packed up and said goodbye to the South Africa portion of our trip before taking a flight to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

We checked into the beautiful Victoria Falls Safari Lodge and had a few hours to relax before taking a sunset dinner cruise down the Zambezi River.

It wasn't much of a sunset, but thanks to the surrounding storms and the lightning the produced, it was a stunning experience.

We didn't have a lot of action in the way of wildlife, but did see some Hippo's and were very lucky to see a small herd of Elephants crossing the river and having a play.

The food on the cruise was beautiful and the drinks were flowing, hence everyone had a great first night.

A quick recap of our last few days here in South Africa.

Friday, we had a wonderful day touring Cape Town and surrounds. Starting with a drive through Sea Point and Camps Bay, where we were treated to stunning views of Table Mountain and Lions Head with the early fog lifting for a big reveal.

Next, we had a stop at Hout Bay where we took a ferry ride to Duiker Island which is home to the famous Cape Fur Seals. We then headed to the spectacular Cape Point Nature Reserve, where the views are absolutely breathtaking.

We had a quick stop for some local seafood for lunch before a visit to Boulders Beach to see the Penguin Colony to round out the day.

Yesterday, it was time for our next round of golf, this time at Arabella Golf Course, set in the exclusive Arabella Estate, providing one of the standout golf experiences in the Western Cape. Designed by renowned South African architect Peter Matkovich, the par-72 championship course winds alongside the Bot River Lagoon with the Kogelberg Mountains providing an impressive backdrop.

The course was always presented beautifully, with plenty of bunkering, water hazards and some really memorable holes. The par-5 8th alongside the lagoon is a highlight, while the 18th is a fantastic finishing hole. A challenging course without being overly punishing made Arabella a great day out.

Today, we set off to Erinvale Golf Club, located in Somerset West in the heart of the Cape Winelands. A beautiful Gary Player-designed championship course with the Helderberg Mountains providing an incredible backdrop. Opened in 1995, the course has held aome big events, having hosted the 1996 World Cup of Golf as well as the South African Open in 2003 and 2004.

The course has two very different nines. The front nine is relatively flat with water and strategic bunkering coming into play, while the back nine climbs into the foothills of the Helderberg and offers some spectacular views across False Bay and the surrounding Winelands. It’s a really enjoyable layout, with a great mix of holes, fantastic scenery and a quality clubhouse to enjoy a drink after the round.

A pretty special day yesterday as a small group of us took to the skies for a sunrise hot air balloon ride through Pilanesburg National Park, while the rest did the morning game drive on offer.

It gave an incredible perspective of the vastness of the park. Our pilot was sensational and very informative, and it was great to spot a lot of animals from above.

And to top it off, the pilot perfrctly landed the balloon on the back of the trailer!

After a rest, we then set out on our afternoon game drive, the final one of our stay. We were lucky enough to have a close encounter with a Leopard in the morning, and again in the evening, which is quite rare given that there are only five in the park and the park is 55,000 Hectares in size.

Upon our return, we had a wonderful Boma Dinner and Dance Show, which was the perfect way to cap of our stay at Shepherds Tree.

We're on the move again today as we head south to Cape Town, where we'll spend the next five nights for some more golf and sightseeing.

Our inaugural Sunshine Coast Golf Week officially wrapped up last week, and what a way to introduce a brand-new destination to the Signature Golf Tours calendar!

41 golfers, perfect Sunshine Coast weather, beautiful Mooloolaba sunrises and four fantastic courses — Maroochy River, Noosa Springs, Palmer Coolum and Twin Waters 🏌️ There was plenty of great golf, friendly competition and a few stories along the way… (we won’t mention the wedge, Geoff! 😉)

🏆 Congratulations to our inaugural champion, Sharon Wu, with Darren Marsh taking out the overall runner-up spot.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make our first Sunshine Coast Golf Week such a memorable one. 🙌

Today, we tackled the famed Gary Player Country Club at Sun City. One of South Africa’s iconic championship courses which has been home to the European Tour's Nedbank Golf Challenge since 1981.

Designed by Gary Player, the par-72 layout is a proper test of golf, with beautifully manicured fairways, plenty of strategic bunkering and water coming into play throughout the round.

Getting the chance to walk the same fairways that have hosted some of the biggest names in world golf makes it a must do when visiting South Africa, and one everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Following golf, we said goodbye to Sun City and made the short journey to the luxurious Shepherd Tree Game Lodge, where we're spending the next couple of nights.

We arrived just in time to take in an afternoon game drive and were blessed to tick off some pretty big sights straight away.

Just down the road a little, we had our first encounter. A small crash of White Rhino's were having a wash at a small water hole.

Next up, we came across a Black Rhino, but it was a bit too far away for a good look, as was an Elephant hiding in the bushes just down the road.

We had a real treat next, with a close up of one of only two female Cheetahs in the park, who had just finished a feed of a freshly caught Antelope. It's quite rare to spot one of the Cheetahs, with one of guides saying she last saw one several months ago.

We then stopped by the waterhole where we found a group of young Hippo's having some fun, play fighting amongst themselves.

After a break for some drinks and snacks, we headed back to base for dinner, but not before coming across a herd of Zebras.

Looking forward to another couple of game drives tomorrow to see what else we can spot, followed by a famous Boma dinner.
