NXT Journey Started in Cootamundra in 2012 by a worker who couldn't find a bag good enough. Now carried by truckies, rail workers, miners and FIFO workers across Australia.

Truckie Gear was established in 2013 with the development of our first product, a bag specifically designed for Professional Truck Drivers. The process initially involved interviewing drivers to determine what was important to them in a work bag. Prototypes were developed and tested until we were satisfied we had a bag that could successfully be introduced to the marketplace. Since the launch of t

he first ‘Truckie Bag’ in November 2015, we have continued to refine the bag to ensure it specifically meets the needs of the Australian Professional Driver. Designing a bag for truck drivers is a challenge. We knew that the bag would be used constantly, with may drivers spending over 200 days per year on the road. Therefore, it needed to be tough. This challenge turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as it forced us to never compromise. Our bags started to receive fantastic reviews, and as a result, enquiries came in from other industries that wanted a bag specifically tailored to suit their needs. In October 2016 we changed our name to Nxt Journey Pty Ltd and launched the Nxt Journey Business Bag. This bag maintains the technical features of the original bag, but is custimised to be more suitable for the general business traveller and remote workers. Truckie Gear, and now Nxt Journey was established with the soul aim of developing a specifically designed work/travel bag for drivers. We are now using what we have learnt to design and produce bags for other industries. Our goal is to manufacture the best Travel Bags and Work Bags on the Australian market. Based on direct customer feedback, we know our bags deliver.

The Safety DayTripper's been evolving since 2018 — always chasing that balance between workhorse and cooler bag.

Latest update: a new zippered pocket on the front, lined and ready for the insert that comes standard with every bag. Drop it in and it stabilises the front, so the bag stands up properly instead of folding forward when it's not fully loaded.

Small change, but it's the kind of detail that comes from actually using these bags on the job, not just designing them on paper.

We may have moved the business out of this shed a while back now, but it was where we started. Today we move out of this house and leave the shed behind.

Last week a bloke named Ken walked into our shop in Cootamundra.

He was in town on an infrastructure project, spotted our bags in the window, and came in with one thing on his mind — a gift for his daughter Peyton.

Peyton drives her own truck. So we put it on the bag.

He's handing it to her at 5pm today.

This the kind of order that reminds us why we started NXT Journey.

Every custom bag order starts with this.

Before a single bag gets a clients logo, we ensure it is going to look perfect. Sometimes we need to recreate the logo from scratch. Colours, proportions, every detail matched as close as possible to the original.

This one is for Dawsons Livestock Transport. Took roughly an hour to get right.

It's a small detail that most people never see. But when a driver picks up their bag and the branding looks exactly as it should — that's the bit that matters.

2015 vs 2026.

Same separated bottom compartment. Same practical layout built around how workers actually pack. Same problem it was designed to solve — clean gear separate from dirty gear, easy access to what you need on the run.

Ten years of feedback from the workers who use it every day. Tougher materials, better finish, refined for more industries.

The DNA hasn't changed. The bag has just earned its stripes.
