Wadeye Barge Service Returns – Effective 20 February 2026

Murin Association is pleased to confirm the return of our Wadeye barge service, supporting the continued and reliable movement of essential freight to Thamarrurr and Daly communities.

Freight receival is now open at Shed 2, 25 Muramats Road, East Arm, with updated drop-off times in place for dry and chilled/frozen freight. Freight back loading to Darwin can also be accommodated by contacting our Freight Operations team.

We extend our thanks to community stakeholders and businesses who have supported the return of this important service. This milestone reflects the strength of Aboriginal-owned businesses delivering local services for local communities.

New Addition to the Murin Fleet!

Murin Association is pleased to welcome a brand-new Toyota Coaster 22-Seater 4x4 to our transport fleet.

This upgraded vehicle will strengthen our remote road transport services, offering safer, more reliable, and more comfortable travel for passengers travelling across one of the NT’s toughest roads. Key features include:

- - 4x4 capability for remote and off-road access
- - 22 comfortable seats
- - Sound air-conditioning
- - Perfect for community transport, charters, and operational support

Please note: with the impending Wet Season likely to arrive sooner rather than later, this service will soon pause due to impassable road conditions. We expect to be back on the road around April 2026, weather permitting.

We’re proud to share Murin Association’s new Generational Strategic Vision, developed and endorsed by the Murin Executive Board.

The plan sets a clear direction for the next decade — strengthening Murin’s services, building sustainable businesses, and ensuring profits continue to be reinvested into the communities we serve.

It focuses on achieving practical outcomes: better services on Homelands, stronger governance, and long-term financial independence for future generations.

Our vision:
Children growing up happy and healthy on their land, Kardu having meaningful opportunities, and all generations living in harmony with Country.

Our priorities:
• Support people to live on Homelands
• Strengthen governance and local leadership
• Grow Murin’s businesses with purpose
• Make wise investments for future generations
• Reinvest profits back into our community

This Strategic Vision reflects Murin’s ongoing commitment to community-led self-determination — strengthening local decision-making, economic independence, and the wellbeing of the region's people.
