The Spirit of Innovation đź’ˇ

In 1985, Spirit of Victoria (Hull 016) entered service as our very first Wave Piercing Catamaran, following years of development and trials of the revolutionary new hull form.

More than 40 years later, Hull 096 is now on the other side of the world preparing to enter service.

The vessels could hardly be more different in scale and technology, but the determination to challenge convention and prove what’s possible is the same.

From pioneering the Wave Piercing Catamaran to building the world's largest battery-electric ship, that spirit of innovation continues to drive Incat today.

37 Years at Incat đź‘Ź

We caught up with our longest-serving production employee, Rod Fielding, to reflect on almost four decades of building ships at Incat, the changes he’s seen along the way, and his advice for the next generation of shipbuilders.

Rod is one of many in our workforce who have been with Incat for more than 30 years, a reflection of the strong workplace culture and depth of knowledge that exists across our shipyard.
