Darwin Port were pleased to welcome students and Mentors from the Stars Foundation to our East Arm Wharf facility. Young members of the Stars Foundation Program at Haileybury Rendall School, Casuarina Senior College and Driver Secondary School were treated to a 2-hour Port tour, providing an opportunity to create valuable insights and exposure into the diverse careers and industries within the Territory’s maritime sector.

A highlight of the visit was witnessing the USMC Ospreys take off from East Arm Wharf, a unique experience that shows the capability and exciting activity that takes place at our Port.

A walk through our Maintenance Workshop with our team also connected these young Territorians with real-world experiences, broadening their understanding of trades and inspiring future pathways into vocational employment and planning. Thank you to our team and the Stars Foundation for supporting ongoing collaboration that helps improve education, health and employment outcomes for First Nations girls and young women. We look forward to continued collaboration at the upcoming Stars Foundation Futures Forum being hosted at the Darwin Port Cruise Ship Terminal in September.

Darwin Port was proud to support Energy Club NT’s annual Golf in the Tropics event, bringing together industry stakeholders for a day on the green to network and collaborate to raise funds for our community. A key event on the Club’s calendar, this day provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen relationships across the energy and resources sectors while supporting an important charitable initiative.

It was rewarding to see participants come together and raise almost $4,000 for Foodbank NT. A keen supporter of this event for several years, the Darwin Port team was pleased to partake in fostering industry connections and help to deliver meaningful benefits to the wider community. ⛳🏌️‍♂️

It’s been a busy week at Darwin Port, with strong activity across our operations and some impressive export movements on display.

Our CEO, Peter Dummett, recently joined ABC Country Hour NT’s Matt Brann to discuss Darwin Port’s role in supporting trade, industry and economic growth across the Northern Territory.

During the interview, Matt said he'd love to see cattle being loaded and aircraft departing from the vessel. While these images don't quite capture that exact moment, they do offer a glimpse of the diverse operations taking place at Darwin Port.

These images capture an Osprey taking off from Darwin Port, with one image also featuring a livestock export vessel in the background, highlighting the unique combination of defence, trade and export activities Darwin Port facilitates and supports each day.

Supporting industries from paddock to Port.

Darwin Port representatives recently had the opportunity to visit Tipperary Station and Northern Cotton Pty Ltd, gaining valuable firsthand insights into two of the Northern Territory’s exciting agricultural industries.

At Tipperary Station, the diverse expertise and sheer scale of resources behind the livestock operation, the cotton and citrus plantations, highlighted the important role agriculture plays in driving economic growth across the Territory.

The visit continued at Northern Cotton’s Gin, where the processing and infrastructure supporting this emerging industry is both innovative and impressive. Gaining an overview of the process up close reinforced the significance of efficient logistics, and export pathways in connecting Territory producers to domestic and international markets.

These site visits are invaluable in helping Darwin Port better understand our stakeholder's operations, opportunities, and future needs as we work together to strengthen the Territory’s supply chains and export capabilities.

A big thank you to the teams at Tipperary Station and Northern Cotton for sharing their knowledge, hospitality, and vision for the future of Territory agriculture.
