Progress has continued on the Pond F reclamation project at East Arm Wharf, delivering an additional 10,000 square metres of operational hardstand to support future trade growth and stevedoring operations at Darwin Port.

Preliminary reclamation activities have now been completed, enabling preloading throughout the wet season, with inground infrastructure and sealing works to follow in April 2027. Once complete, the strategically located space will strengthen operational efficiency and provide additional capacity close to key port infrastructure.

This project also complements the newly completed hardstand development near the East Arm entry gate, which has now reached practical completion and is ready for operational use. Together, the two projects will deliver an additional 35,000 square metres of hardstand capacity across Darwin Port.

This is another step forward in ensuring Darwin Port continues to deliver safe, reliable and future-focused infrastructure supporting Northern Australia’s supply chain.

Darwin Port were keen to participate in the 2026 CDU Engineering & Environment Careers Fair, alongside other industry professionals, there to connect with the next wave of graduates.

Our team enjoyed engaging with those in attendance about the diverse career pathways available in their fields and highlighted the opportunities in port environments and what makes the maritime industry overall such a dynamic and rewarding place to build a career.

A big thank you to Charles Darwin University for hosting another successful event, and to all the people who stopped by to chat with the team. The Territory’s future is bright, and Darwin Port are excited to be part of professional growth in these sectors. 👏

On Thursday 30th April the Royal Australian Navy hosted a reception to celebrate their 125 year anniversary, on the picturesque grounds of HMAS Coonawarra, Darwin. Representatives of Darwin Port were delighted to attend this historic milestone event to reflect on and recognise the Navy’s past and honour its contributions in protecting Australia’s maritime interests.

Attended by senior navy leadership & personnel, members of parliament and distinguished guests, the evening was a fitting tribute commemorated through blessings, speeches, ceremonial toasts, and performances by the RAN Band.

As the host Port of major multinational maritime defence exercises ‘Talisman Sabre’ and ‘Kakadu’, Darwin Port are proud and privileged to be a key partner with RAN. We remain committed to working together and supporting the delivery of Naval operational excellence, capability and advancing maritime security in Northern Australia.
