18.74kg Shortbill Spearfish for 9-year-old Wyatt Rickerby. Not only was it the second spearfish ever caught in Exmouth, it’s also a pending Australian Small Fry record on 15kg line class. CYCLONE NARELLE UPDATE

Just a quick update for everyone following along. We’re all safe, and the boat came through without any major issues.

It was a solid hit, but everything held together well and we’re grateful to be in a good position on the other side of it.

Our thoughts are with those who weren’t as fortunate, we wish everyone a smooth recovery.

At the moment, the only thing holding us back from getting back on the water is fuel availability, which is still being sorted locally. We’re hoping that’s up and running again within the next week or so.

Until then, we’re staying busy, helping out where we can and getting everything dialled in so we’re ready to go as soon as fuel is available.

We’ve also been advised that parts of the region, including campgrounds and national parks along the Ningaloo Coast, are currently closed while clean-up and safety works are underway. These areas will reopen progressively as it’s safe to do so. If you’re planning a trip, it’s worth keeping an eye on updates.

Thanks again for your patience and support, it really means a lot. We know everyone’s keen to get back out there… trust us, we are too.

We’ll keep you posted and be back chasing fish soon 🎣

What an absolute weapon. Unfortunately, the sharks put an end to our chances of getting it to the scales.
