This beastly thing is an absolute hazard to our marine life and vessels.

Why we use antifoul:
Antifouling coatings are designed to slow down marine growth, not completely stop it.

Most modern antifouls work by:
○Releasing small amounts of biocide, or
○Gradually wearing away (self-polishing) to expose fresh active layers
But in real-world conditions especially warm WA waters you’ll still get:
○Slime (within days)
○Algae (within weeks)
○Hard growth like barnacles (eventually)
