Smuggling wildlife is newt a good idea. After we detected a suspicious package inside a suitcase during x-ray screening, a man who attempted to smuggle 13 native bobtail lizards through Perth International Airport has been charged. The maximum penalty for wildlife trade offences is 10 years’ imprisonment and/or a fine of $180,000. Every attempt will be made to rehome the seized animals.
