Okay, for all of our Apanie followers - let’s be honest!
Apanie is still atleast 6 months away until we can consider moving onboard - so I’d like to introduce you all to Magpie!
She a 28ft 1974 Compass 28, and shes amazing!
Plenty of room, a great motor, and ready for a sail.

Once we’re done with our current job, outsider II, and post that video, we will be back onboard Apanie with a big announcement and give you a tour aboard Magpie📣

Anyway, see you then!

Tug It Out! is the only company in Tasmania dedicated to salvaging vessels with one purpose in mind: helping preserve other boats. But we don’t just save timber, engines, fittings and hardware—we preserve memories, history, and the stories that would otherwise be lost forever.

Over recent months, our teenage owner, Josh, has built an ever-growing collection of salvaged maritime artefacts from vessels we’ve recovered, dismantled, and even shipwrecks we’ve explored beneath Tasmania’s waters.

The dream is to one day open a dedicated maritime salvage yard and museum—a place where boat owners can source original parts to help restore historic vessels, while also creating a hub for wooden boat owners to undergo restorations on their vessels.

Every vessel we salvage deserves to be remembered. That’s why each boat we’ve scrapped and more will eventually have its own exhibit, telling the story of its working life, its owners, and its contribution to Tasmania’s rich maritime history.

Pictured here is Outsider—shown during her working life in 2002, and today as she begins her final journey. Although her days on the water are over, parts of her will live on, helping other vessels sail again and ensuring her story is never forgotten.

Please follow our page, and if you have a wooden vessel in Tasmania and need a space to restore such vessel - watch this space. We will soon have a large space available for long term restorations.

Have a boat that needs to go? Whether it’s on a mooring, on-land or at the bottom of the ocean, we can help.

Please share far & wide! The more presence on the page, the closer we get to that dream.
