Day 4 from our Madigan Line crossing, starting just West of Camp 14 and making our way through to camp 18. Some interesting bypasses along the Hay River track from Camp 15 to Camp 16, all passable but slow. From halfway between 16 and 17 all tracks disappeared and looked like we were the first ones through. Plenty of overgrown sections. Such a great drive.

It would be rude not to stop in at one of my favourite outback pubs tilpapub A lazy 700kms and 4 jobs but when the last one is only 50kms from Tilpa then why not. Gotta love bush pubs.

Day 3 on the Madigan Line starting from Camp 9 and finishing just short of Camp 14, so an awesome drive, found a lone bull camel coming the other way, he wasn’t that interested in a chat but everyone got to see him. Not a lot of spots to get if the track in this section, nothing a warm fire and delicious meal couldn’t sort out.

Quick fly by of the group at Camp 9 on the Madigan, was a bit windy last night but still an amazing experience. Much better day today though. More pics to follow.

Day 2 on the Madigan Line started with a visit from a local, he didn’t come into camp but was happy looking around. Slow travelling along the track today, plenty of flora and fauna to have a look at. Finished the day at Camp 9 with spaghetti bol and some freshly made apple pies and ice cream.

Early morning sunrise at Chambers Pillar NT before making our way to Finke to top up fuel. A quick detour to Lamberts Geographical Centre of Aus and then onto camp at Old Andado, such a great camp location, plenty of history and relics of the past. Then to start the Madigan Line, the track was a bit washed out in places but we visited the Waddi trees and made camp in a clay plan between Camp 5 and Camp 6.

I’ve been a bit quiet on the socials lately, but that doesn’t mean the tours have stopped. Here are a few pics from the first couple of days of what was going to be a double Simpson Desert crossing, the front half was modified as Eyre Creek was still closed, but that didn’t stop us having a rippa time. We started at Birdsville and made our way out for a look at Eyre Creek before heading north to Bedourie and Boulia and the an awesome stay at Tobermoray Station just into the NT and an even more memorable stay at Boxhole meteorite crater on Binns Track. More posts and pics to follow in the coming days.
