This place is something else. Ancient ruins and temples scattered between enormous boulders, palm trees and landscapes that almost don’t look real.

Once the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire, Hampi has centuries of history everywhere you turn, but it’s the feeling of actually walking through it all that’s hard to put into words.

One of the most incredible parts of visiting the Golden Temple isn’t just what you see, it’s what happens behind the scenes. 🇮🇳

Every day, the community kitchen, known as langar, prepares and serves free vegetarian meals to thousands of people, regardless of religion, background or circumstance. The entire operation is powered largely by volunteers, from preparing ingredients to cooking, serving and cleaning.

Hearing about it from someone local makes the experience even more special. A beautiful example of community, equality and generosity woven into everyday life at the Golden Temple. 🧡

A place where everyone is welcome. 🇮🇳

During my time in Amritsar, I visited the Golden Temple and experienced something truly special: the community kitchen, known as Guru Ka Langar.

Every day, the kitchen prepares and serves free meals to thousands of people, regardless of their background, beliefs or circumstances.

Volunteers work together to prepare, cook and serve the food, creating a remarkable sense of community, generosity and equality.

The Golden Temple is unforgettable, but witnessing the spirit of seva and community within its walls is an experience that stays with you.
