Nautikat Fishing Charters

Nautikat Fishing Charters Gold Coast will give you a great day out, fishing on the Gold Coast with our Skipper Clyde Brown at the helm. With over 22 years of fishing and charter experience, Clyde can take you to all the right places. Our unique, small group charter service can take up to 8 people, giving you a personalised feel and one-on-one assistance with your fishing should you need it.

Giving a comprehensive safety briefing before launch as well as a detailed account of where we are planning on heading, Clyde will also give you a full lesson on the rods and reels so you can fish like a pro.

From beginners to seasoned fisherman, all are welcome and catered for and with our intimate groups, you won’t get lost in the crowd. Unlike larger boats, we take out up to 14 people, we accommodate groups and individuals. Talk to Clyde about your situation and your requirements.

We only use Shimano TLD reels and Shimano rods and reels and all braided lines, enabling you to feel every bite on your line and hopefully bring in that trophy fish! At Nautikat Fishing Charters Gold Coast we always stock quality fresh bait and sometime will jig for live baits whilst out on the water. You are, of course, welcome to bring your own fishing gear, however if not, everything will be supplied.

Offering both reef fishing all year round, and game fishing from December to May, our 40 foot custom built Cruise Cat, ‘Nautikat II’ will take you up to 15 nautical miles (around 25kms) offshore to find the best possible fishing grounds.

We provide a range of packages, including half days from 6am to 11am, three quarter days from 6am to 1pm, we can stop on the way out to set some traps for Spanner Crabs, something that is unique to Nautikat Fishing Charters Gold Coast.

Reef fishing is available on the Gold Coast all year round and at Nautikat Fishing Charters Gold Coast we use a variety of different techniques and tricks to give you more chance of catching numbers. Reef fishing is done in depths ranging from 12 fathoms to 50 fathoms, where you can work out your muscles and your patience to catch the big one! Including bottom fishing, live baiting and float lining, the fish you can expect to catch whilst reef fishing include Snapper, Tusk Fish, Teraglan, King Fish, Amberjack, Shark, Pearl Perch, Cod and Jew Fish along with a few others. Between May and November, there is a very good chance we will see hump back whales, as well as large amounts of dolphins too! Game Fishing We offer game fishing during the game fishing season which begins in early December and runs through to the end of May.

Nautikat Fishing Charters Gold Coast is set up for light game fishing and as with all of our trips, you can choose whether to keep what you catch to take home, or catch and release. During this time you should encounter a variety of Pelagic fish, including Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Spanish and Spotty Mackerel to name a few. We target these species by trolling hard bodied lures, skirted lures and live baiting all with top of the range Shimano rods and reels. Your experienced skipper will ensure you maximise your catch, hopefully a trophy fish! Spanner Crabbing As well as reef, game, and deep sea fishing, you can join in with setting traps for spanner crabs on our way out, and lend a hand and some muscle hauling them in, on the way back.

Catches of 50 or more crabs is not uncommon, and as with the fish, you can choose to keep what you catch. If you love spanner crabbing, Clyde can organise whole trips just for spanner crabs, just give him a call to discuss it with him on 0413 312 249.
