It’s been a while since we’ve posted. Two of us have moved houses, we’ve started a new business or expanded our existing businesses and started new roles. It’s meant getting away for a weekend has eluded us. One of us was fortunate to win a dining experience at Tasman Restaurant, Hobart Grand Chancellor Last night we took the opportunity to gather, and as the prize was for 6 we invited 2 honourary guests. Well, The Grand Chancellor Hotel Hobart did not disappoint! 3 courses, paired with wine in a window position soaking up the views. One thing we picked up on was how quiet it was due to carpet not hard floors- well except for our table! We laughed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Two of us stayed in for a drink in The Atrium Bar Hotel Grand Chancellor and stayed the night. The room was well appointed and very clean with great views. Buffet breakfast was great and the pool is heated and a good size. Thank you Tasman Restaurant and Tasnim our waitress was very accommodating and looked after us superbly!

The Voyager Tasmania is an incredibly comfortable 4 bedroom 2 bathroom home close to the waters edge of the Esperance River in Strathblane. The special touches like wine, melting moments, fresh bread, eggs, milk and butter in the kitchen ready for you are a testament to the care and hospitality of the host. A fully equipped kitchen, Woodheater and a reverse cycle air conditioner for your comfort, make your stay pleasant. Walking the foreshore is magical and you are not far from Dover, Tahune Adventures Tasmania Hastings Caves and all the Deep South in Tasmania offers.
The Voyager is part of in Narrows Road Strathblane and offers a Tavern, kayaking, camping and cabin stays. It very quickly became one of our favourite stays.

We settled down to a weekend at Ocean Retreat, Falmouth, Tasmania, this has been one of our favourite destinations and it did not disappoint. This accommodation always responds promptly, provides wine and chocolates on arrival and nothing is too much trouble, their host status is high on our scale. The home has 4 bedrooms all with ensuite’s and the most incredible views of the ocean looking out to the horizon. There is a heated pool, outdoor entertainment spaces and a fully equipped kitchen and butler’s pantry. We all brought food to share and literally stayed at the retreat for 2 rejuvenating days. On the journey from Hobart we stopped for lunch at Piermont Retreat a stunning accommodation and restaurant location near and exoerienced excellent service and delicious food. We also invited Hillary, massage extraordinaire to provide health giving tension release as we contemplated 2025 planning!

The PEARs headed along to Aløft recently and had a wonderful experience. As each dish was served our tastebuds were delighted, service was exceptional and the surroundings very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing (well it is The Derwent River!) There were a couple of disappointing aspects. The wine pairing missed the mark on a couple of courses. One wine all four of us did not enjoy and sent it back. The serving team very quickly replaced it having noticed we had not drunk it. We did also find the menu quite acidic and one of our courses was overpowering in this acidity. Overall it was very pleasant and we would return . There were definitely a couple of standout dishes!

We returned to a wonderful Airbnb in Dolphin Sands to welcome in the new financial year. Each of us had a new facet of our lives and business to explore and celebrate (the stuff that has been created and expanded on since we started doing this has been amazing) and it was great to reflect and set new goals. The Hazards are incredible- such a powerful positive energy exudes from this wonderful phenomenon in nature. We indulged ourselves in great food of course(thanks Polly) drink, a relaxing massage from some local therapists and also checked out Mayfield Estate in Little Swanport on the way. This vineyard is a hidden gem with a beautiful tasting house, some special vintages and a yummy cheese and antipasto platter. Their 2021 Pinot Noir will be an absolute cracker cellared for a couple of years! And a weekend at Dolphin Dands would not be complete without Melshell Oysters!

A stay at Clarence Point let us explore the west Tamar. There are some wonderful wineries in this region. Our favourite in this area is Winter Brook Vineyard An early morning swim at Greens Beach was divine. We stayed at an Airbnb Paradise Point- Tamar Valley. A large house with a swimming pool overlooking the Tamar. It was a good family home that lacked the finesse of some of our stays however it was very clean, modern in appearance and in a quite picturesque spot.

Cooking classes at The Farmhouse Kitchen are an absolute joy. Giuliana has created a beautiful space to explore traditional Italian cooking. It was at this adventure we unveiled our logo and sported our tee!

Our favourite to date has been Ocean Retreat, Falmouth, Tasmania
The house has 4 beds 4 baths and a plunge pool on the waters edge. There is plenty to see and do on your drive or simply bunker down and stay put, the property is so divine that if you just stayed in you would feel rejuvenated like you have been at a retreat! Sleeps up to 10.
