Bangkok has absolutely blown us away over the last two days.
Yesterday we jumped on a long-tail boat ride and spent two hours cruising through the canals of Bangkok. It was such an incredible way to see another side of the city. We stopped at a small local market along the canal, fed the fish (which, for a brief moment, I thought the fish food were Cheetos for us to snack on 🤦♀️😂 turns out it was snack food for the fish, oops), and visited the Big Buddha and wow, photos do not prepare you for how massive it really is.
Last night we hopped on a dinner cruise along the river and honestly, it was a very enjoyable experience and one I recommend. We sat up on the rooftop deck with the most beautiful views of Bangkok lit up at night. The buffet was incredible, so much delicious food that I wanted to try absolutely everything, but there’s only so much room one person has. The entertainment was traditional Thai dancing, finished with a small band and lots of dancing.
Today was a slower day with some catch up work and a few things to organise, but we finished the day with what has officially become the BEST food tour I have ever done.
We spent three hours zipping around Bangkok in tuk-tuks stopping at four Michelin-accredited food spots with all receiving awards each year from 2018–2026. Every single dish was amazing, but what really made the experience special was our guide. Not only did he take us to incredible places, but he also shared so much about Bangkok, Thai culture, local life, and traditions along the way.
Bangkok has been chaotic, delicious, exciting, sweaty, beautiful and unforgettable all at once and we’ve loved every second of it. ❤️
Tomorrow we are on our way to Ubud Bali. We have business class seats on Scoot. They were the same price as economy on Thai Airways, so thought, why not give it a try. Budget airline business class has to be better than economy on not budget airlines right? We will soon see 😁
