Apparently this fella’s old Mercury was still cranking over without a problem! 😅😅 Even though the positive lead was barely hanging on by a few strands! Lucky we picked up on it whilst fault finding a unrelated problem

It’s a great example of the issues that can pop up with older outboards. The motor itself might still be running perfectly fine, but everything around it can start to deteriorate over time, including wiring, connections, and the insulation that protects it.

Just because an old outboard still runs well doesn’t mean everything else is in good condition! ⚡🔧
