Ryan Larson, our SEQ Operations Manager, is back with an update on what’s happening across the region.

We’re currently recruiting HR, HC and MC Drivers to join our growing team. A Dangerous Goods licence is preferred, but not essential — we’re committed to investing in the right people through training and upskilling.

We’re also continuing to invest in our fleet, with three new Kenworth T909 Truck & Dog combinations recently joining the Austrans fleet.

Today we said “see you later” to our valued team member, Laura Gaske, as she finished up for maternity leave.

After almost 10 years with Austrans, Laura has become an integral part of our team. Her knowledge and dedication to the continuous improvement of our business have made a lasting impact, and she will be greatly missed while she’s away.

While we’ll certainly miss having Laura around, we couldn’t be more excited for this wonderful new chapter as she prepares to welcome her beautiful baby.

From ground level to the top of the tank, our Townsville team recently completed a fly ash removal project as part of planned maintenance works.

Working within a live industrial environment, the project involved vacuum loading accumulated fly ash powder from the internals of large storage tanks.

Jobs like this showcase the capability of our people, specialised equipment and commitment to safe, efficient project delivery.

Great work by everyone involved.

As we wrap up the financial year, our North Queensland Operations Manager, Stephen Melvin, reflects on a year of growth and delivering on the commitments we set ourselves 12 months ago.

This year we’ve welcomed Leading Hand Robert Gemellaro, expanded the fleet with three new Cappellotto units, established our new depot and added the impressive Cappellotto BORA to the team.

These were all goals on our list last financial year, and we’re proud to have achieved them. It’s all part of our commitment to investing in our people, equipment and the regions we service so we can continue delivering for our customers.

We set ourselves some ambitious goals last financial year, and while none of it came easy, we’re proud to have delivered. Now it’s time to tackle the next list.
