Yorke Removals is looking for an experienced MC driver to handle interstate furniture removals.

👉 Must have furniture removals experience – non-negotiable
👉 Not suited to general freight drivers

💪 The job
Interstate runs (SA ↔ QLD)
B-double / road train work
Furniture, whitegoods & household moves
Hands-on role — packing, loading & unloading
✅ You’ll need
MC License
Proven removals experience
Good attitude & work ethic
Ability to work without being babysat
Physically fit (this isn’t just driving)

⛽ Fuel Excise Cut — A Step in the Right Direction… But Is It Enough?

The government has announced a temporary fuel excise reduction, which will see the fuel tax halved for the next 3 months starting 1 April.
That should mean a saving of around 26 cents per litre at the bowser for both petrol and diesel.
For businesses like ours — and many others that rely on transport — any relief is welcome. Fuel is one of the biggest running costs in keeping trucks on the road and goods moving across South Australia and beyond.

But the big question remains…
Is a short-term fix enough when fuel prices can jump overnight?

We’ll continue doing what we’ve always done — working hard to keep services reliable, pricing fair, and deliveries moving, no matter what the fuel market throws at us.

We’re keen to hear from the community and other local businesses:

⛽🚚 Fuel Prices… We Wish This Was a Joke

If you’ve filled up your car lately, you’ve probably noticed the same thing we have…

Diesel has jumped from around $1.89 to $2.50+ per litre in just a week.
Unfortunately, our trucks don’t run on hopes and dreams (we’ve tried).

Because fuel is one of the biggest costs in running removal trucks, increases like this make a big difference when you’re travelling around the Copper Coast, Adelaide, or interstate runs.

To help manage this sudden jump in fuel prices while keeping our base pricing fair and consistent, Yorke Removals will be introducing a small temporary fuel surcharge on some jobs.

The fuel surcharge simply helps cover the sudden increase in diesel costs and will be reviewed regularly. If fuel prices settle back down again, the surcharge will be reduced or removed.

We always aim to keep things fair, transparent and reasonable for our customers while continuing to provide the reliable service we’re known for.

Thanks for your understanding — and hopefully the fuel price settles down before the trucks start asking for overtime. 😅

🔧 About the Role

A physically active, hands-on position involving:
• Driving company trucks (MR Licence preferred — we may help the right person get theirs)
• Loading & unloading furniture
• Wrapping, protecting, and safely handling household goods
• Working closely with our team on local & regional moves
• Providing friendly, professional customer service
• Keeping trucks clean, organised, and ready for the next job
• Basic paperwork / job documentation

Interstate work may become available in the future as we continue to grow.

• MR Truck Licence (or willingness to obtain)

🎄 CHRISTMAS / NEW YEAR ANNOUNCEMENT 🎄

Hey everyone, just a quick update from the Yorke Removals crew 👇

🚚 We are officially fully booked for the rest of 2025.
January and February are already filling fast, so if you’re planning an early-2026 move, now’s the time to lock it in before the last few spots go!

🎅 Christmas / New Year Break 🎅

Our last day before closing will be 19th December.
We’ll be taking a well-earned breather and will be back on deck from 5th January 2026.

While we’re closed, we’ll still keep an eye on calls and emails — just note that replies may be slower than usual while the team takes a bit of family time.

If you need to book a move for January or February, get in early.
