🚛⛽ FUEL PRICES… THIS IS NO LONGER A JOKE!
Enough is enough. Something urgently needs to be done about the ridiculous price of fuel in Australia.
For the average family, it hurts every time they fill the car. For farmers, tradies, transport operators and small businesses like ours, it affects absolutely everything.
A truck doesn’t take 50 litres to fill—it takes hundreds. On a long interstate run, fuel costs can climb by thousands of dollars. We can’t simply park the trucks, because people still need their homes moved, businesses still need their freight delivered and regional communities still need servicing.
Transport operators do everything possible to absorb these increases, but there comes a point where that is no longer possible. Eventually, higher fuel costs flow through to freight, groceries, furniture, building materials and nearly everything else Australians buy.
And it’s not just transport businesses paying the price. We all are.
Fuel isn’t a luxury. Australia depends on it to function.
The government needs to take a serious look at fuel excise, pricing and what can actually be done to provide relief—because telling people to simply “shop around” isn’t good enough when prices are through the roof everywhere.
Small businesses are already dealing with higher wages, insurance, registrations, parts, repairs and operating costs. Fuel prices like these are another boot on the throat.
We’ll continue doing everything we can to keep our trucks moving and our prices fair, but this situation cannot simply become the new normal.
Something needs to change—and soon.
