Time stood still while we were parked up in this stunning spot, we were spoilt rotten with low winds and warm sunny days.

We were visited by dolphins, turtles, rays and plenty of fish - spending our days snorkelling, kayaking, and of course building epic sand bunkers and castles!

I don’t know how it gets any better than this, but we can’t wait to find out! πŸš™βœ¨

We were lucky to be able to cross an almost dry Yardie Creek for the first time, making our trip from Osprey Bay in Cape Range NP south along the dirt to Winderabandi Point hours less than if we had to go back up through Exmouth, head south and back out to the coast via Ningaloo Road!

Next time we bounce down this track there’ll be 3 bunk windows that’s for sure! 🫒

Wonderful Winderabandi coming right up! 😍

Fun fact - these drone shots are from our first visit to Osprey Bay in Cape Range NP in October 2020, when we hired an Expanda and took off on our first caravanning adventure as a family of 4! Sadly drones weren’t allowed on our recent visit, likely due to the airbase being nearby.

First snap shows the south loop in the camp ground, second photo shows the north loop where we stayed both times - less sites so a little more peaceful, although anywhere here is an absolute dream as the sites are so well spread.

We’ve stayed on Sites 35 and 37, anything on the front row is obviously great, but 37 had a bit more height with a better view!

We booked a full week here and used 5 nights, we were so lucky the weather was amazing with low winds the whole time, but this area can get pretty windy so it’s nice to have some flexibility up your sleeves!

Until next time you little ripper! πŸ™ŒπŸΌβœ¨

Our last trip took two full weeks out of the school term, but our holiday was approved by the principal on the grounds the boys kept up with their schoolwork while we were away!

We’re lucky they love learning, but it was the one on one time spent together with Mum and Dad that was just the best, I can see how families get addicted to this lifestyle!

There’s so many ways the kids are learning while we’re travelling - we were counting money, reading maps, calculating distances, talking about time, seeing how other people live and make a living, understanding farming!

We could easily make a habit of this life .. 😌🌾

[Ikea drawing cases were a winner - held note books, paper, stationery, and has a wooden drawing board on the back - perfect for in the car!]

Our newest little travel buddy was born in September, and set off on his first big caravanning trip at 6 months old, say hello to Regan! πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

While he settled into like he’d been there before, it definitely helped taking a handful of things that made caravanning with a baby more seamless ..

1. Bunk Net - Not only was Sharon a dream to deal with, she also delivered it to us so we had plenty of time to install it before we left! It fitted perfectly, was easy and quiet to zip, and kept good air flow to keep Regan as cool as possible while offgrid in the heat! Perth owned, highly recommend!
2. A Jolly Jumper - We have never had one of these for our babies before, but I just knew it’d be handy to have somewhere to pop him while we packed up or ate dinner nearby, and needed to entertain him while keeping him safe! We hung it off awning on the car and he jolly jumped his little heart out!
3. Padded Play Mat - somewhere to play inside on our bed or the table bed (perfect fit!), or outside to cushion the gravel camp sites, and was easy to wipe clean! So glad we took this, it took up space but we rolled it up and stored it in the bunk or on the fridge (pop top!).
4. A Bath Tub - a literal tub for a bath! If your shower recess isn’t deep enough for a bath, a good sized flexi tub is a must. It’s easier to use outside too rather than trying to hold a baby in the bottom of the shower. It also acted as a little pool to keep him cool or entertained, and stored all our beach/snorkel gear!

Now I’m by no means telling you to put this on your itinerary as a must see 🀣 .. BUT if you’re doing Perth to Coral Bay or Exmouth and you find yourself near the Kalbarri NP turnoff at the end of day one, it can surprisingly be quite lovely!

We’ve certainly experienced way too many flies, and way too much toilet paper decoration here in the past, but this time we drove past the crowd to the North side of the Murchison River and pulled up in a quiet little spot right on the bank. We were spoilt by the nicest breeze to keep the flies away, the boys enjoyed an hour or so before it was dark to explore along the mostly dried up river bed, and if you’re in the right season you’ll be able to enjoy a camp fire on the first night of your trip!

You definitely have to enjoy the dull roar of the road trains as they pass you in the night, but it is fun to sit outside once the kids are down and watch them light up the night as they cross the bridge!

We enjoyed a glorious 5 days at one of our favourite spots in Cape Range National Park, on the Ningaloo Reef in WA.

The big boys have really mastered their kayaking and snorkelling, and Regan mastered his baby beach naps!

The weather really turned it on too with an epic week of low winds, we’ve never seen Osprey so gorgeous before! 😍

All the deets to come, including our top tip for the prime spot!

We popped into the DAY before they closed for their 2021 season, and made it just in time for a delicious coffee and their famous scones! Definitely put it on your pit stop list on your way to or from Exmouth or Ningaloo, it was well worth it! πŸ˜‹

Growing up way too quick right in front of our eyes, thank goodness for all of our travels allowing us to soak them up as much as possible!
