We’re pretty excited to be cheering on the mighty Hawks from Launceston tonight as they head west for their first finals battle against Freo.

So much so, we had to give the players a high-five to wish them luck.

Let’s go, Hawks! 💛🤎

We loved welcoming students from Kings Meadows High School to the airport through the Beacon Foundation and giving them a glimpse into what a future in aviation could look like.

It was a chance for them to learn about the many different jobs that happen at an airport and see if any of them caught their interest.

It was a great day, and hopefully we may have even inspired a few future airport team members!

Our Island heroes 🐾

The team at Biosecurity Tasmania, who work at Launceston Airport, including their six incredible detector dogs, are an impressive bunch.

Every week, they help stop risk materials and pests from entering our beautiful island home.

So next time you see the team at the airport, be sure to give them a wave as a little way to say thank you!

Ever wondered why plane windows are rounded? It’s not just a design choice!

The rounded shape helps spread the pressure evenly around the window, making it much stronger and better able to handle the changes in air pressure that happen as the plane climbs and descends.

So, next time you’re gazing out the window at 30,000 feet, take a moment to appreciate that little oval window doing a very important job!
