Almasts – Update

Reefit headsail furlers were previously manufactured under the Almasts brand in Launceston, Tasmania.

Following the Tamar Marine fire, which destroyed the Almasts facility, the business has restarted operations as Reefit Yacht Systems, with a clear and dedicated focus on manufacturing and supporting Reefit headsail furlers.

We're re-establishing operations and building production capacity to support existing systems and new installations.

New and existing customers can expect:

✅ Existing Reefit furling systems remain fully warranted and supported
✅ Spare parts and technical support are available
✅ Manufacturing and technical capability remain based in Tasmania
✅ Furler stock will be available for purchase shortly

This page has been renamed to reflect that continuity and focus.
- Same product heritage.
- Same know how.
- A clear focus on Reefit furlers into the future.

If you own, have installed, or are considering a Reefit furler, you’re in the right place.

For sale, asking $6000

'Ruby H' is a 1972 Stewart built 49' huon pine hull and deck. She is missing her cabin and half her deck from a previous fire. Her 8lxb Gradner and twin disc gear box are in unknown condition after having an unfortunate swim. Otherwise her hull and remaining vessel are in very sound condition.

This would be the perfect starting point for dream cruiser or motor sailer, Tamar boatworks is also in a position to assist with the conversion.

Please DM Tamar boatworks for viewing and more details.
