Andy had one rule for Gareth when they mixed up Norman’s V Drive gelato in the Bianco Latte kitchen: don't touch anything.

And unsurprisingly, Gareth managed to get his hands on all the wrong things for gelato - a blowtorch, a knife, and a welding mask.

Episode 3 of The Norman's Gelato Project is live — and while the gelato making wasn’t smooth, we can promise the end result definitely is. 🚛⚡🍦

Norman's V Drive is somehow still coming together. Come try it at MegaTrans, 16–17 September at the MCEC.

Introducing Norman's V Drive - our custom gelato flavour. 🚛⚡🍦

When our Managing Director Gareth Hearnden asked Bianco Latte owner and longtime friend Andy to create a custom gelato for Norman’s, this is the flavour he described: “The taste of Blue V that hits like a Kenworth."

Andy's response? "I know, he's crazy."

In Episode 2 of The Norman's Gelato Project, our custom gelato has a name — next, it's time to make it. More episodes dropping soon, and Norman's V Drive debuts at MegaTrans, 16-17 September at the MCEC.

A great night shift doesn't happen by accident.

It starts with investing in the right people.
As Norman's PM operations have grown, so has the focus on cross-training, up-skilling and giving every team member the confidence to make the right decisions on the job.

Because whether it's 10am or 10pm, our customers should expect the same thing.. Experienced people, reliable service and a team that knows how to get the job done.

The shift might change. Our standards don't.
Consistent service. Another reason to make Norman's your first call in cartage.

Overnight deliveries aren't just more efficient, they're safer.

The roads are quieter, sites are less congested, and there's fewer people on site.

That means our drivers can get in, place the container safely, and get back on the road.

It's a safer way to deliver, a more efficient way to operate, and it means we can deliver more containers to our customers overnight.

Less congestion. Safer deliveries. Another reason to make Norman's your first call in cartage.

When the biosecurity inspector arrives at Norman's, everything is already done.
Paperwork prepared the day before, freight unpacked and staged in the biosecurity area, the inspector's carpark reserved. Every document in order.
What makes a biosecurity inspection pass or fail happens before the inspector walks in.

Our team at Warehouse 5 knows exactly what's needed — and has it ready.
It's why Norman's approval rate is one of the best in Victoria, and why our customers can rely on their freight being released and delivered on time.

Biosecurity expertise. Another reason to make Norman Carriers your first call in cartage.

When our PM crew arrives on site, they don't just represent a truck.

They represent Norman Carriers.
That's why we put experienced, multi-skilled drivers behind the wheel. People we trust to think independently, solve problems on the spot and keep everyone informed along the way.

As Jason Go, our Transport Manager says, it's about having a crew that can be relied on to make the right decisions, work safely and get the job done properly, even when plans change.

That's the confidence our customers can expect every night.

Experience isn't optional, it's the standard. Another reason to make Norman's your first call in cartage.

There aren't many transport companies that can say they've washed a dinosaur.

A few weeks ago, a shipment of life-sized animatronic dinosaurs came through Warehouse 5. Delicate materials, moving parts, strict biosecurity requirements, and a public exhibition deadline that couldn't move.

As Raf puts it: "There is no handbook for washing a dinosaur — but because of the experience we have here at Norman's, we just know how to get it done."

Knowing what the inspector is looking for, understanding how to clean without causing damage, and handling freight that nobody has written a procedure for.

That's what 75 years of experience looks like.
Experience is the handbook. Another reason Norman's is your first call in cartage.

Our PM shift didn't happen by accident.
It happened because we saw an opportunity to deliver a better outcome for our customers.

Rather than waiting to be asked, we identified the customers who could benefit from overnight deliveries and worked with them to make it happen.
By planning ahead, arranging after-hours access and shifting deliveries outside the morning peak, we're able to provide greater certainty and more control over delivery times.
It's a smarter way to move freight and one that helps our customers start the day with containers already on site and ready to go.

That's what Relentless Yes looks like. Finding better ways to deliver for our customers.

Another reason to make Norman's your first call in cartage.

Raf Adam runs Warehouse 5 at Norman's — our CFS warehouse in Laverton North.

It's where oversized freight lands. Big generators. Steel pipes. Industrial machinery. And anything that needs biosecurity treatment before it can move. Fumigation. Washdown. Unpack. Delivery.

Most importers piece that together across multiple operators. At Norman's, Raf and the team handle all of it under one roof. One point of contact, from wharf collection through to biosecurity treatment, on-site unpack and repack, and delivery to the final destination.

Fewer handoffs. Fewer delays. Another reason Norman's is your first call in cartage.
