I started looking at the plans for the boat. To see how she is built vs what the plans show then to see what I want to do in my own design based loosely around original plans.

I spent the morning doing some work on the boat yesterday. I started to take a closer look at the mess of the transom from the inside.

Also to begin creating more usable deck space. There is a lot of work to be done removing rotten timbers and re building structural integrity back into the stringers, transom frame and more.

After having some time from deconstructing the boat. I have started to take more comparison images as she sits. As noted in an earlier image. I really need to turn here around in the birth. To allow for easier motor removal and wheelhouse demolition.

Let’s start with a tip. Kits sold in auto stores for polishing headlamps can also restore the clarity to portlights. If your plastic portlights are cloudy, not crazed, this is where you should start.

I have started the slow process of stripping the paint.

So the plan is to remove everything extra to the boats framework. Open the rear cockpit up to around 3 m x 2.3m then remove the wheelhouse and make it open for now. All on the same deck level as the current cockpit area which will allow for the new flat roof and lower screen and helm area and add a flybridge.
