House Boat Restoration

We were out today looking at this cute marina and house boats when we came across this pelican in a terribly distressed state. We called the local RSPCA who responded so quickly. They came to try capture the pelican who was surprisingly cooperative, it sat on the rescuers lap as she kayaked back into shore.
We didn’t think there would be much hope of saving it as it was badly tangled in fishing line with multiple hooks in its body. But they removed the fishing line and it looked amazingly good. Hoping it makes a full recovery.
Huge shout out to the RSPCA for their consistently incredible work in caring for all kinds of creatures great and small.

DEMO DAY!! The treasures you find… the kids had so much fun digging through all the goodies hidden in the boat.
The house boat renovation has officially begun!

Finally a successful kitten capture! Attempt number 3, we got there in the end.
We really enjoyed the week they were here, coming out multiple times a day to feed them and watching them slowly becoming a little more tame.
Hoping they all found a loving home. If you know where any of them ended up we would love to hear a follow up on how they’re going 🤍
Now we can finally make a start on the house boat restoration journey!
