We love hearing from our travellers when they’re out there living the dream. Faye and Geoff have just sent us these amazing moments from their polar bear expedition, part of an independent Canada itinerary we put together for them. Bears sparring on their hind legs, a curious face looking straight at the camera, and one very relaxed bear resting by the shoreline. Geoff was very happy and so are we 🤗

Vegas has a way of making memories you never planned for.

An Elvis photobomb at the famous sign, a lap of the Eiffel Tower (without the flight to Paris), and a pool cue held high in a classic Vegas bar. This is what travelling with good company looks like!

From the grand seaside promenades of Opatija to the medieval hilltop streets of Motovun, Croatia stole our hearts. 🇭🇷 There were sea views and elegant villas, then winding lanes, truffle treats and views across the Istrian valleys. The journey into the Croatian countryside was incredible!

It’s “Plitvice” (PLEET-veet-seh… I’m still practising).
My pronunciation might need work, but these lakes don’t.
16 lakes flow into one another in terraces, joined by more than 90 waterfalls. Yes, the water really is that turquoise in real life, and the colour shifts from emerald to blue depending on the minerals and the light. The wooden boardwalks sit right over the water, so it feels like walking on it.
It’s Croatia’s oldest and largest national park, and it has been UNESCO World Heritage listed since 1979. Honestly, you have to see it to believe it.

Bosnia Herzegovina 🇧🇦 you have been amazing 🤩

Sarajevo and Mostar have given us so much to soak in: ancient mosques and baroque architecture standing side by side, emerald rivers rushing beneath centuries-old stone bridges, and stories etched into every cobblestone lane.

The moments that have truly stayed with us is the experiences we shared with the people.

Travelling well means travelling with an open heart and this beautiful part of the world reminds us that embracing different cultures, different rhythms, and different ways of seeing things is where the real magic lives.

We have taken in every last detail before we cross into Croatia, eyes wide open and hearts even wider. This is what travel is all about.

There are w**e stops... and then there are W**E STOPS. 🍷

We pulled into Chiflik W**e in Demir Kapija, North Macedonia and this place absolutely delivered. That gorgeous old villa in the photo? Once a royal country retreat— and you can feel every bit of that history the moment you step through the gate. Those terracotta statues guarding the entrance were buried underground during world war 2 and not rediscovered until the 1960’s the weathered stone arches, the ancient trees... it's the kind of place that stops you mid-sentence.

And then we sat down to THIS — a long-table lunch, raising glasses of Queen Maria, Chiflik's signature w**e. Every bit as regal as the name suggests.

This is what small group travel does, discovering extraordinary places with great company, and w**e that tells a story.

The Balkans, you really do surprise me at every turn. ✨

Ohrid, Macedonia, you stole my heart 💙

Ohrid sits on the shores of Lake Ohrid, one of the oldest lakes in Europe at more than a million years old. The lake and the old town are both on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. The town was once called Lychnidos, “the city of light”, and later became a major centre of Slavic learning, where Saints Clement and Naum taught in the 9th and 10th centuries. Legend says Ohrid once had 365 churches, one for every day of the year.

I walked the cobblestone lanes up to Samuel’s Fortress had lunch beside water so clear you can see right to the bottom.

The history, the views and the warm people made it easy to fall in love. I love discovering new places.
