FAULTLESS AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Perfect in all respects - location, facilities, comfort and hosts
I normally finish my reviews with a short summary, but for the first time I am going to start with my summary, and the briefest one on record - PERFECT, FAULTLESS and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It is hard to know where to start, perhaps the location. The Waterview Gardens B&B name is a consequence of the view of the waters of the D’Etrecasteaux Channel from your “room” window and the pademelons grazing on the hosts’ lawn, it is also only 17 minutes to the Bruny Island ferry so ideal for island hoppers. “Room” Is an understatement because it is more like a mini, self-contained apartment. The bedroom is quite spacious with an enormous, king-sized comfortable bed, with a his and hers electric blanket for those cooler Tasmanian nights. There is a small but functional sitting area in front of the bed, with two large comfortable lounge chairs and a large coffee table. The hosts also managed to fit in a large wardrobe and chest of drawers. The piece-de-resistance is the compact “kitchen” unit with its medium sized fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee plunger. If you had bought a pre-cooked meal from the supermarket, you would be able to completely self-cater. Wine glasses are available, of course. Hah! If the bedroom is so large, the bathroom must be in a closet! Wrong again! The bathroom is large, extremely modern with both a large bath and shower and underfloor heating. Lots of hot water and thick, soft towels. Sounds almost too good to be true! The breakfast must be a bit of toast and peanut butter spread. Our recommendation is to fast the day before to create room for your full English (sorry Tasmanian) breakfast, plus cereal, fresh and tasty locally grown berry fruits, yogurt, orange juice, tea or coffee. The hosts are very friendly with a wicked sense of humour, and obviously enjoy the companionship that comes with providing in-home tourist accommodation. The Tariff is very reasonable. So as I stated at the beginning; FAULTLESS and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Nothing. Faultless and dislike are incompatible terms!

Absolutely perfect!
My parents were due to stay with us over the Christmas period on Bruny Island. After a change in ferry times for the last ferry, they found themselves 2.5 hours away from home with no where available to stay due to the yacht races in Hobart. After a late evening call to the Watergardens bed and breakfast, they were met by the most wonderful hosts who were so accomodating, even at this late evening hour and organised a room to be cleaned, available for them to stay. My parents are extremely fussy people and they were so impressed with the cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, relaxing setting and hospitality of the hosts. They have now recommended to all the family as a place to stay when coming to Bruny or Hobart.

Tasmanian Adventures come in such a variety of ways! Recently, Ashdowns of Dover hosted B&B, a Tasmania’s Best Bed and Breakfast Trail member property in the beautiful Huon Valley, had Dakota Wolf, a returning guest, stay before starting the Tasmanian Trail, which extends from Devonport to Dover for walkers, cyclists and riders. Dakota is this time doing the journey starting from Dover on his magnificent horse Coda. Ashdowns of Dover are fortunate to have a paddock for Coda meaning they are both well rested prior to starting the Tasmanian Trail. Safe travel Dakota and Coda!
