Ok so im going to step out of my comfort zone here and bit a bit vulnerable with you all..
Something I never thought about when we left to travel Australia for over 2&1/2 years was coming back home, and how different they may be....
And whilst on the surface its the same, where in the same location, the same friends, the same schools, but also EVERYTHING is so different...

Coming back a different person to who you were when you left, seeing life a little bit differently now, but also coming back the mum of a toddler when all of your friends have kids your bigger kids age.. it is so isolating...
Sometimes I feel like im out there swimming with no idea of what direction to head in to reach the shore.

Friends that were the closest before you left are now distant, you have new priorities with a toddler in tow, they are moving on with kids that are all in school.
Feeling that disconnect for me at the moment is hard, its like there is a huge gaping hole in my life..

Now dont get me wrong, I love my life, my family, where we currently are with things, but I just feel like there is this side to travelling that noone talks about, when you come back home and its just not the same... your not the same.

Does anyone else feel this?

One day my kids will be old enough to understand why Mum spent so much time learning something new.

They'll know it was never because I wanted a bigger house.
A nicer car.
Or more things.

It was because I wanted choices.

I wanted to be there for the school assemblies without asking for time off.

I wanted to say yes to the spontaneous beach trips.

I wanted to travel together while they still wanted to hold my hand.

I wanted them to grow up seeing that you don't have to choose between being a present parent and contributing to your family's future.

For 14 years, I've been a stay-at-home mum, and I wouldn't change that for the world.

But I wish I'd realised sooner that I could still build something of my own while raising them.

Because our children aren't little forever.

Time is the one thing we can never earn back.

If I can create more memories, more freedom and more choices while they're still young...

Then every late night learning, every uncomfortable step and every challenge has been worth it.

If you're a mum reading this, what's one memory with your kids you'll never forget? 🤍

Close your eyes for a second.
Imagine waking up without rushing out the door.
Having breakfast with your kids.
Working from home, a café or the beach.
Being present for the moments you'll never get back.
That's why I do what I do.
If you've ever wondered whether there's another way...
