Vale Yayoi.
A full life, a life swaying between tragedy, success & brilliance.
But a full life well lived. 97 is an amazing marker.
I have been lucky enough to visit many of Yayoi's art pieces. On Naoshima, in Tokyo, Matsumoto and the Mornington Peninsula.
I have also been incredibly lucky to have shared these incredible works with a bunch of amazing women.
My next visit to Naoshima in May 2027 will be a little tainted now. But, she will continue to be one of the world's most celebrated artists, and favourite for me.

She's Back!

Our fabulous Art Islands & Iya Valley tour is back again for the last time in 2027.

10 amazing nights starting in Tokyo, then moving to Takamatsu, our base for discovering the Art Islands of Naoshima and Teshima.

Fom here, we journey into the remote, mountainous Iya Valley - about as far removed from the neon signs of Tokyo as you can get. We spend two idyllic nights in an onsen ryokan before returning to Takamatsu.
