Did you know an American president once evaded his security detail in Yosemite?

In 1903, President Theodore Roosevelt joined John Muir on a three-day Yosemite wilderness trip through Mariposa Grove, Glacier Point, Sentinel Dome, and Yosemite Valley. Muir saw the journey as a chance to influence the president’s views on conservation. While Buffalo Soldiers of the Ninth Cavalry were assigned as Roosevelt’s escorts, Muir and Roosevelt used a trail-clearing assignment as a diversion to slip away and explore alone. Their escape later made headlines in the New York Times.

Monstropolis is starting to take shape as construction continues at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Resort! Steel rises behind the walls, new details emerge almost daily, and with every milestone, the world of Disney and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. is roaring to life. Through a creative collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar Animation Studios, guests will finally be able to take in all the monstrous sights, tastes, and sounds of Sulley and Mike’s world.

But this isn’t just a new land taking shape, it’s the beginning of a new story.

Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?

As it turns out, the answer is already making headlines in the city of Monstropolis. Through the pages of the Monstropolis Horn, the city’s official newspaper, monsters are talking about a “historic decision” that’s about to seriously mix things up for monster kind.

Sri Lanka’s greatest attraction might not be the beaches, tea plantations, or ancient temples…. It’s the people. 🇱🇰 ✨

Somehow they can make you feel like family five minutes after meeting you, feed you enough for three people and still apologise that it wasn’t enough. 😆

The smiles are genuine, the hospitality is legendary and the kindness comes with absolutely no off button. If warmth were an export, Sri Lanka would dominate the world market. 🌴🌺🪷

🌿🍃 Sri Lanka clearly didn’t get the memo about moderation.

One minute it’s a jungle of giant ferns, the next it’s orchids showing off, tea plantations rolling across hills like a green velvet carpet, and tropical flowers competing for the title of “Most Extra Plant”🌱

I came for the scenery and left questioning whether my houseplants are even trying. 🇱🇰 🍃🌺🪷

🎣 Sri Lanka’s original balancing act.

Before selfies, drones and travel influencers, there were the stilt fisherman…. Perched above the waves like they’d reserved the best seat in the Indian Ocean 🌊

I tried to figure out how they stayed up there for hours. My conclusion? It’s either incredible skill, generations of tradition, or they’ve secretly glued themselves to the pole. 😆

Just another day in Sri Lanka, where even fishing comes with an incredible view. 🇱🇰 ✨

Current status : emotionally attached to Galle Fort. The ocean views stole my heart, the historic streets stole my attention, and the souvenir shops nearly stole my credit card 😉🌴🌴

Sri Lanka really understood the assignment when it came to waterfalls 💦💦

Every time we turned a corner there was another spectacular cascade tumbling down a mountainside like it knew we were coming. 🌿✨

As a travel agent, I’m starting to think Sri Lanka’s waterfalls are in a friendly competition to see which one can steal the most camera storage 📸

Safe to say, they all won 🏆

🍃🫖 Tea-riffic day at the beautiful Labookellie Tea Factory in Sri Lanka!

As a travel agent, I spend a lot of time helping clients find unforgettable experiences, but today I got to enjoy one myself. From misty hills and endless tea plantations to learning how one of the world’s favourite brews is made, every moment was steeped in history and flavour.

Research was conducted thoroughly… especially the tea tasting part 😉☕️

If Sri Lanka isn’t on your travel Wishlist yet, it might be time to put the kettle on and think again!
